Got a bit worried at one point.....
End of Over 17: 88-4, runrate=5.18
Leonard 2-0-16-2
Malcolm* 2 (2 balls)
Mercer 0 (3 balls)
Last Wicket: Brown lbw b. Leonard 4 (FOW: 87/4)
my best batsman gone for 36 and my lower order renown for poor batting performances, i had rejigged my team a bit to bring in another all rounder and i guess it was time i found out whether my monkey scout was correct in saying my record signing (Mercer) could hold a bat.....
End of Over 46: 311-5, runrate=6.76
Cumberworth 8-0-36-2
Mercer* 104 (97 balls)
Kenny 0 (0 balls)
Last Wicket: Malcolm c. Lovell b. Cumberworth 111 (FOW: 311/5)
45.6 W Cumberworth to Malcolm
Someone give the chubby lady a nudge, Malcolm is out, clubbing a tired drive to Lovell at mid-off.
a record 224 run partnership thankfully eased my worries
49.3 W Cumberworth to Mercer
Awful shot and Mercer pays the price. The ball wasn't short enough to pull, but Mercer tried to, and instead dragged a huge bottom edge back into his stumps.
He did however give his wicket away in the last over for his first career century getting himself out for 117!!
I guess i owe my monkey scout an extra banana in his pay packet for unearthing him
The players are off the field for the break between innings.
End of Over 50: 343-6, runrate=6.86
Cumberworth 10-0-49-3
Worrall* 2 (2 balls)
Kenny 16 (11 balls)
Last Wicket: Mercer b. Cumberworth 117 (FOW: 340/6)
I reckon my bowlers are good enough to win this one for me
