If Chelsea are to make the top 4 they will have to enjoy a sequence of results unprecedented in PL history (and probably longer).
Klopp, or whoever arrives, has a fabulous opportunity to get Liverpool into the CL for next year, assuming we hang on to four places.

Not sure where you got that from, Chlesea are only 4 points behind you!

David is also a united fan so that would make it 8 points Wink

Knew I shouldn't just accept it as fact, but I really wanted it to be true :-)

United, Liverpool, whatever, both crap.

The point I was making is that is clearly nonsense. Chelsea need somewhere in region of 60-67 points from 30 games to finish in the top 4. Multiple teams gather points at that rate most seasons.

Though about this some more - Chelsea would have to win points at an unprecedented rate in order to win the Prem this season is what the person on the radio should have said.

Record points total - 95. Exactly 2.5 points per game. If Chelsea get 2.5 points per game from now on that gives them 83 points, which usually isn't quite enough to win it.

Seems fair enough.

Looking back at top 4 points for the last 10 year, the range for 4th spot has been 67-79 points. The highest points tally and NOT making 4th spot has been 72. That has happened twice - Everton and Spurs.

If Chelsea average 2.3 points per game, broadly the same as their league winning average last season but maybe hard to replicate from now on, it would take them to 77 which should be more than enough. It could get very interesting.

TBH fuck knows whats gonna happen, could go as pear shaped as it did for Moyes. For me, it all depends o the current talks and how much freedom/influence Klopp will have over the squad.
Have heard that he demands effort from players and isn't afraid to drop anyone who doesn't live up to his expectations. That is what Liverpool have been lacking as clearly Rodgers didn't have a firm idea of what he wanted.

On the other hand, Liverpool are still in 3 cups and only 6 points off top

If it were you....what would be your priorities to improve results and the squad?

blonde Jurgens, what do you want to see happen?

Desperately either needs to more out of the cbs we have now or get some new ones, this would help results

The King is dead, long live the King.

If 'Sky Sources' are to be believed, then Jurgen Klopp has just signed a contract to become the new manager of Liverpool.

One wag on twitter suggested the first thing he'd done was to take three pieces of paper, write Joe Allen's name on each, and stuff them in an envelope.  Smiley

Joking aside, this is fantastic news and I'm really looking forward to seeing how he can develop the club through the remainder of the season.
