Reading the first page or two of this thread I see it started in 2005, before the semi final with Chelsea, but then after the semifinal, stopped for 4 years with no mention of actually winning the thing! Was there another thread?

YNWA started after the Uefa Cup final in Germany a few years ago - 2001. Liverpool fans sang it for an hour after the final whistle and it made the papers the next day. In 2003 Celtic went over in another tie and the club they were facing sang it back to them (can't remember who now).

Some older LFC fans I know say it started in the 70s but unconfirmed.

I'm taking the bait i know. YNWA was first sung on the kop in the sixties. And has been done at every home game since.

Apologies Mr Baron, seems i got very much the wrong end of the thread with this comment. Not realising you were referring to the germany league.

Think you've misunderstood Alex's post. He wasn't suggesting the thread went quiet whilst Liverpool weren't winning anything, he was asking why it went quiet when they were winning the CL final.

Liverpool XI: Mignolet, Johnson, Flanagan, Skrtel, Sakho, Gerrard, Allen, Lucas, Sterling, Coutinho, Suarez.

Substitutes: Jones, Toure, Agger, Cissokho, Moses, Alberto, Aspas.

Just highlights the lack of depth in our squad.

Missed Hendo so much , the support to Suarez and Sterling when we went forward was appalling.

Chelski game was always gonna be the big one , will need to be a big big performance.
