How many people thought Sturridge was a risk at 14 million?

No i did thought it was very overpriced he had a big reputation of being disruptive inside the dressing room (albeit not as bad)

Sturridge has been a revelation.

But Mario is more of a known quantity.  He's scored goals wherever he's been, but he definitely has an attitude on the pitch.  Let's see how the Liverpool coaching staff and management deal with that.

If he plays most games in the league he will score minimum 15 league goals probably more

The fact you can get that as guaranteed as you can for 16 million is why it is a no brainer

This is a left-field signing.  £16m and 'only' £90K a week for a player of his capabilities is a bargain.

Of course there's a MASSIVE risk.  He's bonkers.  But that doesn't worry me as much as his attitude on the pitch in terms of working for the team, etc.  If Brendan can instil that in him then he could be a massive asset for the side.  If not, then I can't imagine Rodgers will take too much of his shit and he'll be moved on?

Exciting though.

Fee wise, great price for his ability. But way way too risky.

He, youd think, not but as much trouble as Luis gave us i guess. But he is lazy, selfish ( but not in a good forward way)big headed (not to be mistaken for confidence)

The world revoles around him. Sulky, stroppy.

Complete opposite to the work-ethic we now built up over the last couple of years.

Why do we think Rodgers will man-mange him better than other have, all of whom habe more experience.

He will be a disaster for us.  But nothing will make me more happy to eat humble pie.-

The thing bandied around about him being lazy is not borne out at all by the stats on distance covered when at Man City.

Just because he looks lazy doesnt mean he is

The key to Ballotelli for me is he needs a cuddle.  I think Glenda is the guy to give him that also the Liverpool fans will play a massive part, they imo are like Celtic fans when they take a player to heart no matter what they do away from the pitch as long as they put in a shift and score goals they will always be onside.  Also the fact Liverpool have the football whisperer in might also help Mario.  I think this is a storming bit of business.

This is what I hope it will be.  Agree that if he's going to deliver, that Liverpool have the staff and the supporters to help make that happen.

So far in this window, Liverpool have done some decent business:

Moses replaced by Markovic.
Aspas replaced by Lambert.
Cissokho replaced by Moreno.
Agger replaced by Lovren.
Manquillo added at right-back.
Can added to the midfield.
Lallana added the attack/midfield
Origi secured to be added a year or so down the line.

No one was going to replace Suarez, how he played last season he is literally irreplaceable by one other player.  However, the team is definitely stronger elsewhere and with Balotelli coming in that's definitely someone who can work with Sturridge or fill-in in his absence.

I'm much happier now we have that additional forward, and I wonder if there will be any more transfers in before the window closes?

Spot on.

This has got to be one of the biggest generalisations about players that don't chase the aimless balls you're lazy. If you want one of those get yourselves down to the conference.

I can think of a few top strikers who get labeled lazy, yet are anything but.
