OMG Hodgson - Aquilani out on loan ater bringing in dross like Poulsen.
Initial Hodgson optimism is seriously shaken today.

Poulsen is in to replace Mascherano in the defensive role.
Aquilani would have to out Cole or Gerrard to play regularly. I think he's an excellent talent, but not really sure where he'd fit in unless Gerrard became the defensive midfielder - but that's too restrictive for him imo.

Well if Masch goes too that leaves us with Poulsen, Lucas and Gerrard for two roles in the middle of the park. It makes even less sense! If he stays we have 3 DMs and Gerrard. Ergh. So we'll end up replacing Aquaman with someone more willing to sit on the bench (ie worse)??
We've talked about a lack of creative midfielders for years, so we let our second most creative go on loan?
We've talked about a lack of squad depth so we don't end up with El Zhars, Spearings and Nemeths on the bench and we want to ship him out?
If he plays well we'll have missed him and if he doesn't he been devalued in his home country and next destination. It makes zero sense. What's worse is how good he was in the last 6/7 games at the end of last season. I think it was 6 games, 1 goal, and 5 assists and so good that Gerrard was moved from just off the front to accomodate him.
I am glad to see 95% of LFC fans on the LFC forums think this is a ridiculous move. The Hodgson honeymoon has ended quickly.

I liked his signing, but unless Roy's got someone coming in as a replacement, or it's a money issue...?

Thought Poulson was good last night.
Think it will be Gerrard, Lucas, Poulson competing for the 2 defensive roles.
Cole or Gerrard in the role behind Torres.
Does mean somebody needs to come in but they probably will out of the Mascherano money so could be to save wages for a year. If he does well and he's worth £20mil again i don't think the club would be to disapointed.

If Poulsen was playing over me and Poulsens old club was doing all it could to sign me as his upgrade I'd definitely want to go. Who could blame the fella?

Looks like the team line-up I posted in the match thread is accurate. Bye bye Javier, mercenary.

You thinks hes a mercenary?, Obv you know more than i do, I dont know whether to dislike Masch or not, Some people say his missus aint happy in Liverpool if thats the case, then i cant blame Masch for wanting to leave, he always puts in 100% when hes on the pitch, on the other hand he's courting moves elsewhere whilst been a Pool player this aint cool considering we rescued him from West Ham and more or less made him, I dont know what to make of it all tbh.
