Arsenal have been top 4 throughout under Wenger, and a CL final.
All this up against MU and Abramovich's spending
The best youth system around, and all done with the club really healthy off the field too
I don't understand his transfer policies with goalkeepers or central defenders much, but deservedly I think his position is safe for as long as he wants it
Superb manager, overall
Absolutely, but where is Arsenal going?
Title contenders each year, the occassional deep run in cl, and if (when?) the influx of new owners get bored of their clubs Arsenal will have the infrastructure on and off the field to still survive, and thrive.
Also who would take over, and improve the clubs standings?
title contenders? No they are not. They are the third best team in the league (or at least 1st eleven). Admittedly ManU has an ageing squad as does Chelsea but Arsenal are not title contenders every year.
2005-2006 4th 24 points behind Chelsea
2006-2007 4th 21 points behind Chelsea
2007-2008 3rd 4 points behind ManU
2008-2009 4th 18 points behind Man U
2009-2010 3rd 11 points behind Chelsea
So only in 2007-2008 did you come close.
FA Cups you've also not been competing the past couple of years (can't be arsed going further back)
2007-2008 5th round 4-0 loss to Man U
2008-2009 4th round 3-1 to Stoke
Obv, you're qualifyingfor the knockout stages of the CL but this has very little to do with Arsene surely? I will ignore the diddy cup as you've not won that either but Arsene has been treating that as a training excersise for his kids thusfar.
Who would take over would be anyone who doesn't think that they are already doing enough by finishing in the top 4 every year. Arsene set up the system but now have someone like Van Gaal (who understands a passing type of system) or Hiddink (same) take over. There must be other managers out there, (Bergkamp would be an interesting your protege, V Basten etc. etc) The last two might not be big names but neither was Arsene when he started and the club is not moving anywhere under him.
Couldnt have put it any better myself (or couldnt be arsed to do the research)
Arsenal have not been in the title race for a number of years now. He somehow has immunity because of the way they play football. Big deal.
All this talk of youth- how many players have actually become world class?
Same argument from me again. Tiny budget but huge over performance. Great long term thinking by the board, avoided the short termism 95% of EPL clubs have fallen into (my club included).
It was only 3 years ago if Arsenal has not made the Champions League spots they were in serious financial trouble, soon they'll be the most well off club in the land by a distance.
I have no doubt the mandate was something like "Right, we'll be weaker for a few years whilst we pay off this stadium. When it's done we'll earn £3m per home game and challenge for everything. If we nick a pot or two along the way then great. If not then at least make the CL group stage as a minimum"

Wenger imo is a manager of the future as well as the present. I.e. being a football manager, especially with the new financial rules coming, is as much about being a commercial success. Arsene is by far and away the best at this.
If your team isn't going to be winning things i.e. the vast majority of those in the league, how would you like them to play?, I know I would rather watch the football that Arsenal play.

Arsenal play brilliant football in midfield, but no substance up top, and all there back 4 fancy themselves as midfielders, not exactly the right tactics or mindset to win a championship.

Having seen a lot of this over the years at my club, let me tell you that half this team don't want to play for the manager. He hasn't got the dressing room, its clear as day

Liverpool just cant seem to win these relegation dogfights. If they dont beat the teams around them they are a sure fire cert to go down. As a leeds fan I'm talking from experience.

4 points off relegation - i know its all tight up to 10th - but you need to win a few - and losing at home has gotta be the final straw?

Nah, I think he's under serious pressure now. But whatever happens to the manager it wont change the fact the current Liverpool FC side is complete shite. I mean your centre back pairing is a joke. Kyrgiakos is just a donkey and the best coach in the world wont make him anything else. Why is Johnson so fat? What's wrong with Torres? I mean why not play Dalglish up front cos he used to be good once as well. Cole and Jovanovic both overpriced imo. N'Gog is lol. Babel on the bench. The whole squad is devoid of passion and desire. Why are Liverpool FC even recruiting and employing players who don't give a toss about performing for this prestigious club? Due respect to Tighty but this isn't Leicester ffs. Where is the young scouse talent coming through? I really don't think Liverpool's current predicament starts and finishes with Roy Hodgson.

Hang on.
Ngog was one of the best players on the pitch tonight, and then he was subbed for that excuse of a player, babel.

Also, Johnson has actually lost a lot of weight since the early part of the season when he clearly shouldn't have been playing?

Cole and Jovanavic were both free transfers so not exactly overpriced.
Ive been a Liverpool fan since the gloomy Graeme Souness days, Roy Hodgson is the worst manager we've had since then.
It doesnt matter which way you paint the picture this current team should not be 3 points off the relegation zone.
