Cardiffs pace caused us problems but great to see us come back from behind twice today and still win and dodgy sti worries me with the big teams still to come at anfield but we've got loads of goals in us,looking good for top 3 Smiley

It hurts to say this but I really like the way Liverpool have performed this year (with the obvious exception of not enjoying last Sunday's game)

Suarez is an animal, Sturridge has matured wonderfully well as have Henderson and Sterling. With Gerrard deriving energy from the players around him and Johnson and Flanagan benefitting from the style of play I'm looking forward to the World Cup more than I was too.

It hurts even more to say that I'd actually rather Liverpool won the league this year than Chelsea or City. Obviously I'd have preferred Arsenal over all three but that horse looks to have bolted.

In 2007 I wanted Man U in the CL final. Eternal pain if we lost to you (we would have) but would have been a "real" final. Epic in every sense. I'd take you lot winning it over the other two any day. Few scousers were happier than I when Terry missed that pen.

Here's a question. If Liverpool don't win the league this year will Suarez stay? I had an even money £100 with a friend - I have yes - but he is convinced he'll be off.

like your bet

With CL football all but secure I like your side. A huge bid from Madrid the only exception.

I think we need to win all our remaining games to win the title.

Chelsea's run in is pretty easy. Apart from us, they don't have to play anyone in the top half of the league.    Don't see them dropping many points. Hopefully the CL might tire them a bit though.

Man City's remaining games are much tougher than Chelsea's, but they can afford, imo, one slip up.  No CL to distract them though.  Hopefully Man U can do us a favour on Tuesday.

If we don't win the title this year, then I think it will be much tougher next year, as we will have to rotate players due to the CL.  Squad will need to improve dramatically.

8 games from greatness.

BELIEVE.

I think the title is just beyond Liverpool this year, as we need torrely on Chelsea and Citeh to drop more points than us over the run in.  But there's still a chance we can do it!

Top four is looking more and more nailed on, and hopefully top 3. Would be unbelievable if we can finish higher than 3rd, and if we do it'll be because of how prolific the team has been this season in terms of scoring goals - as my next post will highlight.

Liverpool are a goal scoring machine this season, with Suarez and Sturridge obviously the major players in that.

The figures are astonishing:

With 47 goals between the two of them, they have scored more goals so far than every side outside the top four other than united (who have scored one more). Neither Suarez or Sturridge have scored a penalty (Sturridge has missed one though), and 8 out of 10 of Gerrard's goals have been penalties.

With eight games to go, Suarez is on course for a number of records, including the best goal to game ratio of anyone in a Premier League season (who's scored more than 20 goals).

Suarez has now scored two more goals than RVP did all last season in winning the golden boot

Suarez and Sturridge combined have scored as many goals as Manchester United this season  (as at 5pm yesterday)

With 82 goals in 30 games, and 2.73 goals a game, Liverpool are level with Spurs 1960-61 as most prolific team since 1945. City second with 2.71

Suarez assists will be interesting. He wins so many pens before anything else.

Only City? If we beat Chelsea plus our GIH then were above them. City still to play us, Man U and Arsenal. It's not as clear cut as it looks. We'll go close at least.

If we win out all we need is City to not win every game they play (excluding us obv) and we win the league.

Yes, I know that it's in our hands to finish above Chelsea, but I'm sure we'll drop some points over the next 8 games.  If it was just one of City or Chelsea we had to overcome, then yes I might be more confident - but we're really relying on both of them to slip up (and in addition we really need to take points off both of them in those games).

http://espnfc.com/stats/assists/_/league/eng.1/barclays-premier-league?cc=5739

leading with 11, gerrard 9, sturridge 7

Ultimately I feel conceding too many will stop you winning it, but nothing to stop liverpool strengthening via a world class centre half (or two) in the summer, another holding midfielder in front of them and being right there to win it next season

Who would they go for to fill this void?  I suggested a few weeks back that Virgil Van Djyk of Celtic could be an excellent signing, I don't think he is world class yet but he has tremendous potential and I think he would fit right into Brendas style of play.

I think it will be difficult for Liverpool to attract a genuine world class player from one of the other leagues until they are actually winning titles/regularly back competing in Champions League.

I am assuming they will be in the champions league, would retain the front six and players would come

haven't thought about who but holding midfield and really commanding centre back leader appear to be the areas to me

I'd be very surprised if all three teams don't drop points from now until the end of the season.

I hope you win the league, glgl.
