Going to be brutally honest here Tikay, the explanations you're giving for the one-round penalties seem ridiculous to me and I don't think I, personally, would want to play at Caesars after reading these. Much rather go and play at the Rio, or the Venetian.
From what you're saying, the biggest denoms were at the top of the pile, on top of your neat stack!
Not the first time the floor has given off rulings at Caesars.

Well that seems plain wrong, Andrew. I don't actually have ANY problem with "bad Rules", they are what they are, & apply to all, my issue (& this does not generally apply to Caesars) is badly or inconsistently applied Rules.
Rules are rules, we must accept them if we enter the Tourney, if we don't like them, we should not enter. Be nice to know what they are in advance, mind.
Caesars always give a little speech before the start of any tourney, detailing bits & bobs, which I rather like, all Cardrooms should do that. Not that it helped me much, yesterday.
I can't recall ever having had a Penalty against me in Europe, (though European Venues rarely penalise anyone) but I've had 6 or 7 in Vegas down the years, including one "f-bomb" back in the day.
tikay, poker's bad ass boy, who'd have thunk.

I heard the Dealer mention something about "big chips in front", but took no notice
maybe actually listen next time and you might hear the bit where he also tells you to put the big chips at the top. will save him having to call the td over

Hmmmm......
Thought the staking thing was just for the main event.
Any chance you could let me know what I've bought a piece of please?
Link to the appropriate page would suffice.
Thanks and good luck.

Sigh, just caught up and missed out on the stakage. Good luck out there!
Shame you might not play the Main
. If you change your mind I'll have a piece of that instead.
Enjoy Vegas
Stop teasing me! Worse than Mondy, you.
Thanks Nick.
As it happens, I have quite an interest in this year's WSOP me already. I have invested in two x 5% stakes, & 2 x 10% stakes, + 1 x 1% stake, though one of the 10% stakes is a freebie, a remnant of a previous bit of staking which was "thrown in" as a makeweight.

I was too busy arguing about the "NO speech play whatsoever" Ruling at the time......
For the record, I have no complaint with the Ruling, it was my own fault. Just seemed a bit odd, & a bit harsh, all things considered, but I accepted it with good grace & only a little huffy pout, as any diva would.*
* I think it's one of the few "universal" rules of Live Poker, "big chips visible/in front", but I've never before encountered "big chips ON TOP". Live & learn, eh?

Did you mention the clever idea someone had earlier itt to your bosses at Sky about you playing the main ? Forget what the idea was now but remember thinking it was a good one. Why aren't you playing it ? pretty sure you had interest upto 50% itt, at least. You know it makes sense.

I'll look it out later, Matt.
Basically, I said I'd play an ad-hoc assortment of Tourneys in Vegas with an aggregate value of
up to
$10,000, & I'd sell half just for a fun sweat. I'm absorbing the Reg Fees, & it's all at 1:1.
If you are not entirely happy with that, no prob, I'll happily refund you.
MerePedant is acting as Stake Referee.
The original idea had been to do some fun staking next door, where only a very few have been lucky enough ever to go to Vegas, but I got stymied by legal issues, (GA, 2005) so I did it here instead, & a few of the regulars next door were therefore still able to do it via the back door, so to speak.
My daily schedule & spendage is proofed in advance via my Twitter feed, "Tony_Kendall", as I'm sort of making it up as I go along. Proper grimmage in progress.

Binion's has that 'big chips on top' rule as well. Thought it was a bit odd, though I think the colours there make them harder to see if they're on the bottom.

Good spot, I'm playing the $1k there next wek, (July 1st?), so just as well I knew.
My trouble is I think I know everything. Well, I do, to be honest......

Hopefully you'll be playing on the 1st as that is day 2, it starts on the 30th. I'm staying downtown for 3 days while the Nugget/Binions tourneys are on to save on travelling and walking. No doubt see you there hopefully it's a good decision and I'll still be down there for both day

Had an excellent Meet with Seth Palansky, & ironed out a few things as to Media Guidelines. "Common-sense" was his line, & that'll do nicely.
As to those with media Credentials playion WSOP Events, it's slightly awkward. The deal is, you surrender your Media Creds when play commences, & do not get them back until TWO DAYS after busting out. I can't quite get my head round "why" that 2 day thing.
Have now set up office in the Media centre (sorry, "Center"). So that's good, free & excellent Wifi 24/7 (an arm & a leg in my room), & good working conditions. It seats about 100, & I'm the sole occupant at present. Which I like, I can't be doing with chatting when I'm working. Miserable bugger, yup.

I'm entirely happy with the arrangement. Just a bit disappointed to have missed the first sweat because I foolishly neglected to find out what I was buying in to
Unfortunately I'm not on the twitter bandwagon so will only be following on here.
Hope you have a fantastic time.

For those not following on Twitter, this is the quality of writing that you are missing out on:
Play started in the noon $230 @ Caesars.194 entered so far, but late entries and re-entries are allowed for 4 levels.20k starting stack.
K-K first hand, flop A-A-9, got bluffed off I think by a hoodie wearing 7 year old Scandie. Only a surface wound to my stack, +ego bruising.
Tangled with the 7 year old again. Board J-9-6-3-2, I v-bet my 6-3 two pair, he snaps and says "2 pair",ugh, then flips 3-2. Now behave.....
After 2 x 30 min levels, entries are now up to 300, my stack is up to 18,700. Well, down to 18,700.
23k now, settled down, but table is crazy. Geezer busts aces with k-2, then, in the ultimate rub, announces "but they were suited". Obv.
Swiss Boy is out. His parting words to me were "you play pretty good for an old guy"...... @rich_orford would have been so proud. Wazz.
Shakespeare, eat your heart out.
