Is it just that if they built them pointing straight up in that location then one side would have to be significantly bigger, or smaller than standard?

UL in the PLO8 sir, but they do say "lucky at cards, unlucky at love"...

Pylons are designed to support power cables that are connected to them at right angles. If you're going down a steep incline, this would not be possible unless the pylon was also inclined.

Good luck today mate wherever you play. There's a $150 PLO8 jobbie at Planet Hollywood starting about now .
For those of you who have never been to the series then do whatever it takes to get out here for the WSOP .  Not only is it 24/7 poker at the Rio ( single table satellites from $125 will win you a buy in to $1000 event ) , 3 daily deepstacks at $235,185 and $135 , cash games everywhere at all limits , multi table satellites for all kinds of events  etc etc but 6-10 other casinos have smaller buy in events too.
So fat this trip I have played $565 at PH , $400 at PH, $75 at Mirage, %40 at Flamingo , $125 single table  satellites and yesterday the $1000 NL event at the WSOP. Things are incredibly well run, you get plenty of play now as starting chip stacks have been increased and you can do vegas on a budget.
Hotels are fantastic, pool areas awesome, weather gorgeous so you go home with a tan , any kind of food and drink you want - what more do you want ??

The best thing is the chance to play at he same table as the biggest names in poker. Yesterday I had the great pleasure of playing with Shaun Deeb who has already won a bracelet this year and late registered after busting the #3000 PLO8 that Tikay plated in. What a player. He min- raised  pretty much every hand every orbit and boy , can this guy play down the streets. Not only was it a fantastic learning experience but he was a great guy too, we got the banter going and had a ton of fun for the last 5 hours of the day. Also Esfandiari was o the table next to us and he got into our banter too. These are genuinely nice guys who make it fun for us amateurs .
If you've never been out here at WSOP time then put it to the top of your bucket list- you won't regret it.

Great Post Simon.

I heard you are still in that Event, & close to the cash? DO IT!

I'll try & come find you later, what Table are you on?

I did look at that PH PLO8, but I'm not a fan of the structures at PH, or PH itself, it's my least favourite venue in Vegas, so I think I'll skip it, but thanks for the info.

I played golf at Wollaton Park GC today which is also pretty damn fantastic especially in this coolish summer which we are currently experiencing, perfect golfing climate on a wonderful course.

I play my poker in the evenings online with a glass of wine in hand.

PS I also managed to chalk up a "W" in the $33 Omania the other night for the first time ever Smiley

We are stuck in Dallas on the way home left the rio n Vegas yesterday I can confirm its a great atmosphere .
One thing I noticed was the amount of people / players walking up the corridor to the rio with a shell shocked look on their little faces / talking to themselves
Spoke to several who had won they were delighted and also a few who hadn't won me included and they were still as keen and hopefully as ever it's great

Meanwhile, bruised & bloodied, but undaunted, I'll be playing the $600 PLO @ Venetian @ 5pm.
