Would prefer Stars if at all possible.

Will try, David.

I can't do that myself, but Simon Galloway usually assists me with these, so if he can oblige, then we are cool. If not, it'll have to be cash by Bank TX.

EDIT - I've now sent Simon a PM, but I see he has been Offline for over a week. Anyway, let's see if he replies. Also, I'll need your 'Stars alias, please.

Simon is in vegas.

Thanks Rich.

Back to Boo, then.

Want to wait until Simon returns, & hope he can sort it via Stars for us, or would you prefer cash by Bank TX today?

I will wait please and thank you.

Ok David.

He has now replied to me - he is in Vegas until next Tuesday, but he has agreed to do it upon his return.

So I'll send him the sterling now, & he'll send you the money on 'Stars when he gets home. Probably be Wednesday or Thursday of next week.

PS - Will need your 'Stars alias, please.

It was SPT Manchester over the weekend.

For reasons which I cant really explain, at every SPT I get several gifts from the players, for which I'm, obviously, most grateful.

I was given this by a kindly couple from Edinburgh, Geo Devonshire & his good lady.

It was rather embarrassing that I had no idea what it was, & had to ask them. "A tea-strainer without holes" was probably not my most diplomatic moment.

Anyone care to guess what it is?

PS - It did not include the £20 note - that's for scale.

It's a quaich.

"Quaich", aka "Cup of Friendship" is correct.

How on earth did you know that? Even Tighty & Tal would not know that.

We got a pewter or spelter one in a box of bits and bobs while we were out tatting when we were stopping in Merthyr Tydfil.

There was an old bloke who used buy antiques from us, he used to drive around the Gypsy camps in a Volvo estate car every Friday, (Saturday was weighing in day and everything would be gone) and buy our copper kettles, jam pans, fire spaniels, clocks etc.

We showed him the cup and he said it was a quaich, or Scottish ceremonial drinking cup.

He said that good ones were expensive but ours was crap obv.

When I saw the picture I knew what it was but had no idea how to spell it so I Googled Scottish ceremonial drinking cup.
