Thank you, & will do. I've kept Diary notes privately, as a lot is happening in my life right now, & I'll try & diary-ise some of it, such as I'm able, & as appropriate. Unfortunately, some sensitive stuff, which is a major part of my life right now, will have to stay off-Diary. Interesting times.

For now, though, here's a shocker....

A blonde friend - thank you, Mr F - sent me this.

It occurred, I think, 2 days ago, & yet despite being an avid newspaper reader & TV News watcher, I had somehow missed it. Perhaps it never got much coverage, perhaps I just missed it.

Had it been in the UK, there would have been immense coverage, but it was the other side of the world, so I guess it's deemed to be not newsworthy. Just imagine if this happened in Birmingham, or Henley-on-thames, or Liverpool.

Yes, quite so, I'm a bit averse to TV news in the morning, it's all a bit too cheesey & Daily Mail/Mirror-ish for me. I read the heavy newspapers though, but I guess I sometimes miss the "World News" pages, tucked away as they are in the middle of the 'paper.

Today's Telegraph front page has almost a full page photograph of Mr & Mrs Cameron holding hands. Very nice.

There was a piece on Channel four news last night, it looks like all of the streets are awash with toxic goulash.

Yes, that bothers me as well TBH..there is surely biggers news out there..but they do love Cameron. They didn't mind showing Cameron at the conference with his new baby the day after he announces that Child Benefits will be cut. Very cynical...but there isn't a newsreport that didn't show it, so I guess it worked.

Obv, child benefit is just wrong and should be scrapped for everyone but using your baby to remind everyone that you're a daddy as well is a bit meh.

Did the law change, so that cyclists (who always get the sympathy vote for some reason) can now ignore red traffic lights at will?

It's happening everywhere, though more so in London, they just act as if the lights were not there, "hey, what the hell". When you knock them over, though, they are inclined to get a little mardy. They are cyclists, don't you see? Almost a protected species. They don't even pay Road Tax, or Insurance.

I think they should all be banished to East Anglia, to mix it with the tractors who all seem to run on (untaxed) red diesel in those parts.

Bleurgh.

hehehe..it's even worse in Holland. If you run over a cyclist it is almost always your fault as you're the one driving an automated vehicle.

It's mental.

Aren't tractors meant to be running on Red Diesel?

Not on the public highway, when using the tractor to take the kids to school.

I read somewhere that one diesel-engined car in three uses red diesel, which I'm sure is a gross exaggaration, but there's no doubt it happens. Farmers sell it to them I guess. Shoot the lot of them.

They do make a most splendid noise.

I often buy a latte, & go spend an hour in the Car Park at Hatton Cross Tube Station, which sits on the very edge/end of the South runway at Heathrow. The incoming long-haul stuff is, (hard to judge exactly), but maybe 200-300 feet above the ground at that point. And it's the noise, as much as the sight, which so impresses. And an incoming makes so much better noise than an outgoing, too. I wonder if that is because of doppler? Probably not.

The Emirates A380 attacts pretty large crowds to the Heahrow perimeters too - & it is some awesome beast, though surprisingly (& relatively) quiet compared to a 747.

The only issue I have is that the Car Park which I use as my viewing point is full of geeky plane-spotter nerds. Can't be doing with them, the sad souls.
