RIP WordPress Blogs?

The FT reports the stunning growth of "tumblr." Blogs, which enjoyed 55 million uniques last month, & more page views than all the WordPress Blogs combined.

Can anyone tell me about "tumblr."?

I'm keen to take a look at it for business purposes, but it must have good SEO, & not be behind any sort of paywalls.

OK, gotta go, Orford is tapping his toes. He might be a great guy, but he's a shocking diva.

I guess you're referring to hosted wordpress accounts, rather than including self-hosted wordpress blogs?  Even so, yes tumblr has grown rapidly.

No idea if your assumption is correct, it is all a bit complicated to me. Amazing how fast the pecking order changes in the world of Online-ness.

So, perhaps you could decode this for me.....

It's all down to the tips and tuition you provide next door.

I make sure I carefully avoid watching any of it and it's an easy game.

More on it here:

Looks like wordpress is still comfortably number one for bloggs, but tumblr has certainly come out of the blue and has firmly placed itself up there.

Last night - NYE - I was a little unwell, & fearing the worst with the Sky Poker Deal about to be announced.

Today, I'm fit & well again, in mind & body, & happy.

Off to Luton for the NYD £150 jobbie now. I found an old Diary at home yesterday during the ongoing salvage operation, & it noted that I won this Comp for £1,800 - in 2001!

Gonna meet Tom down there, too, which I'm delighted about - not played Poker with him in ages, & I have a book to show him, which I know he'll love.

I lost a bit of my discipline (patience) during my last 2 or 3 Luton Tourneys earlier this week, even though I chopped one of them, so I'm gonna try to rectify that tonight. 2010 was perhaps my most enjoyable poker year ever, I played a lot less Live, due to work, but enjoyed it more as a result. Overall, Live, Online, & a bit of ad-hoc staking I did, (at which I was outrageously fortunate) I came out a shade under £15,000 ahead, so a free hobby, & spending money as a bonus, can't be bad.

Life is good, if only I were a shade younger, life as I know it cannot continue much longer, I'm convinced.

OK, the M1 awaits, & then, tomorrow, I am doing the Show, so it's back to work. Which is good.

I know you're a coffee man but I thought you should read this by Christopher Hitchens - the most important article ever published.

I made myself a bit unpopular by opting out of the tea round in the office because I just couldn't bear to drink tea made by anyone else.

Does swishing a bit of boiling water around a mug to remove the worst of the gunge and, hopefully, kill a few germs count as warming the mug?

Myself and two of my brothers like to make our own tea. My dad was the same.

It's OK for a family member who knows our little idiosyncrasies to do it, but we prefer strangers to let us do our own.

A girl in the office was making a brew the other day and asked me how I like my tea. I told her to just put the tea bag in and I would do the rest.

After giving it some time to brew properly, I went to get my tea and found a tea bag in the cup, but no water.

I do the same, can't even remember someone else in the office making me a cuppa. MrsB makes a good cuppa though Smiley

it maddens me how many english people are incapable of making a decent cuppa. and as for letting yanks, aussies, kiwis do it, well you can forget that, what they produce is barely fit to flush straight down the loo

To be fair, she'd followed your directions perfectly.  I bet you giggled.

Respect to Mondy, who updates his Diary so frequently. Every single day I plan to update, & I never seem to get there. I really need to organise myself better, though in mitigation, I do have quite a bit on these days.

Anyways, for starters, it would help if I was fitter, physically & mentally, but before I lay out the plan to solve that, I need to put this tea-making nonsense to bed.....
