I believe there's a $150 PLO8 comp at 2pm today, tikay. Downside is it's at Planet Hollywood, but I'd hope the afternoon crowd won't be as traumatic as the evening.
If things don't go to plan Downtown and you fancy a flickerinnerment, let me know and I might join you.
Thanks Tal Bloke, and was great to see you yesterday. Well, until you bokked me. I had been in that tourney for 16 hours, and it took you exactly two hands to get me busted. Disgraceful scenes.
Planet Hollywood? Hmm, doubtful. If there is one room in Vegas I detest, it's PH. Bloody loud music everywhere, poor lighting which means I struggle to see the board, and daft structures. That apart, love the place, love it. Anyway, good luck there, TID with the MOF and all that. And remember, what would Brad do? He the man.
Going from memories, I believe all PH tournaments are upstairs in "The Mezz". Not as bad as it sounds - its a lot quieter up there away from the music and the pits etc. Cash games are still downstairs but tourneys are upstairs.

Bad news incoming - we have fired another bullet, after something of a car crash.
Will spare you all the details, but the flop was 4-7-7.
I had 4-4, and villain had 7-4. What are the chances?
For rubs, another 7 turned.
i had A-2 too, for the nut low draw, so there was no way off. These things happen.

Pardon me for a late reference to The Duke whom we were discussing recently and his pretentiousness but
I have unearthed a gem that was buried deep within my memory
which I hope and feel will be of interest.
Can't let such nice prose go unremarked.
The remarkable part is, he doesn't have to try.

Can't help feeling I've seen that expression before...
He's not pining! He's passed on! This parrot is no more! He has ceased to be! He's expired and gone to meet his maker! He's a stiff! Bereft of life, he rests in peace! If you hadn't nailed him to the perch he'd be pushing up the daisies! his metabolic processes are now history! he's off the twig! he's kicked the bucket, he's shuffled off his mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleeding choir invisible!! He's gone to visit Tal. THIS IS AN EX-PARROT!!
Ah yes.
No news on tikay, though. I've had a lazy morning, so I'll miss the
$150 PLO8 to Music
event.
Last 36 in one of the 1500 NLHE events includes (in no particular order):
Phil Hellmuth
Andy Black
Stuart Rutter
Simon Deadman
Ben Vinson
Andre Akkari
Carlos Mortensen
Be pretty unlucky if some of those don't make the final. The Brazilian fans broke the rail the other day (seriously, the wall around the stage was broken by some overly exuberant fans), so that could be quite something.

Re-entered David, fired another bullet, sorry, meant to say as much.
Going a little better this time, 19,000 from 15,000.
Elderly gent to my left asked why we were getting 5 cards. It was explained, this is 5 card Omaha high low. "Is that the same as Texas?" He enquires.
He is informed he has to use two of his 5 cards.
"Which two?" he fires back.
He has 43,000.
PS - he is wearing a cowboy hat. Might just be Brad. Winner, see?

Sort of. He is the chap who busted me, and I believe he was overnight chippie.
Good player, and hitting cards. Winning combo.

Meanwhile, back at Golden Nugget, both bullets have been fully discharged I am sorry to say. A huge 3 way coup where we were the jolly to treble up, but the rag got up on the line.
That's a wrap, then. Something of an anticlimax to end the schedule, but it all played itself.
Sandwich, choc ice and a nap awaits, then I will make a start on replying to stuff, updates, and may even get round to finishing the Pacific Adventure tale, still have some nice photos to upload.

Unlucky Tikay.

Not too late for playing 5 BBs at Planet Hollywood!
It was a better sweat than most of us gave. Good night all.

And THEN all that was topped by, would you believe, a school of dolphins, just doing that porpoising thing off the end of the pier. There were 30 or 40, & they stayed for 15 or 20 minutes.
Magic? Just a bit.
Egret, Pelican, Dolphins, & a banana split, all within an hour. How good is that?
Sadly, the dolphins proved a little difficult to photograph. I have around 50 photos of them, all like this, a tad short of perfect in fairness. Just use your imagination.
Congratulations on the engagement tikay, wonderful news.
Less celebration in order for your photo of the
Lock Ness Monster
Dolphin.

Had hoped to start replying to the huge backlog of replies tonight, as to Gill & all sorts, & do the Staker's Report for the last two jobbies, but they'll have to wait as I've just remembered I need to get my Bluff Column in by Noon on Friday (UK time) & get a Blog penned for Next Door.
After playing poker for 26 of the 36 hours prior to my WSOP busto, I'm drained of sufficient creativity to write either, but needs must & all that, work has to come first.
Meanwhile, & bizarrely, Simon Deadman, a kid I admire almost as much as anyone in poker, is on a Final Table just 50 yards from were I'm currently sat, & yet I'm not there watching. Have to say, a rowdy, drunken "Brit Rail" hollering football style chants is not exactly my scene. No offence lads, each to their own.
Hope he wins, it'd be an awesome boost for British poker if someone like Simon took it down, few players are better respected, & deservedly so. It's rare to see Simon not smiling, & he takes his wins & losses exactly the same, with disarming modesty & dignity. To use that dreadfully overused cliché, a win by Simon would be
good for the game.
