When I was a little boy, comics such as "Eagle" published all those futuristic cut away drawings and graphics of life in the future, space travel, aeroplanes, monorails and assorted other nonsense. We never thought we would live to see them all.

And now, in 2016, it's all commonplace.

This is "Pod Parking" at Heathrow T5.

Cost about £7 extra to park in the right place to use this and worth every penny.

Step out of the car, into the Pod. Sit there for 5 minutes and get a scenic view of the Airport as it travels on an elevated track.

Step out of the Pod straight into T5.

Perfect, the whole thing is seamless, efficient, and cheap.

Terminal 5 is light, airy, and bright, mainly due to the very high roof, and lack of central columns or walls.

Those big up yours column/ roof truss things are a delight to look at. Must have taken some assembly though.

However this might look to you, it tasted worse. Really poor brekkie.

It was in "Giraffe" which I have frequented elsewhere, Kings Cross for example, and they were pretty good I thought.

However, this was dire.

All the more disappointing is we have both been hard dieting since Vegas, so this was supposed to be a real treat.

Never mind, it can't all be good.

As kids, another dream, or vision, we all had was that one day, a long long time in the future, breakfast for two would cost as much as £2.

It would have been way too far fetched to imagine ever paying £35 for brekkie for 2.

Still, you get to see the aircraft as you eat, which is is pretty cool, huh?

The Wetherspoons place at the other end is just as bad for breakfast. I've not tried Huxleys yet, but it's more expensive. I can recommend the coffee & sandwiches by Pret, and whilst it's no full English, you avoid a £35 disappointment.

I went to Norway on a schooltrip many years ago. I don't remember much other than the beauty of the girls and the fjordic scenery. Interesting meatballs.

Hope you have a great trip, sir!

I would've sent that back and asked for a refund. That's a pretty offensive and grim breakfast. Suggest you post it in the 'rate my breakfast' thread and see how it scores.

The Ramsay joint is decent for breakfast as you would expect, price not much different to what you paid.

How the other half live eh? A steak and kidney pie and a fried breakfast = my week's wages.

Bon voyage. You kids enjoy yourselves.
