Did I read that there's no binions poker series this year ?
If so it's a great shame their dealers were just brilliant!
Hopefully some may make it to the nugget GSOP
it looks like there's quite a bit of PLO as well as PLO 8 ?

Ignore that my dementias getting worse
Their schedule is on Facebook page

Binions is running comps the whole time we're there, Tony.

Higher buyins than last year, though.

Nice one Tighty - that's actually very good.

Simple is always good, as Harry Beck was to prove.

Incidentally, Mr Beck always reminded me of Professor Unwin.

Anyway, reluctantly moving on from railway maps, it looks like we have a little Vegas Staking Team, which will, I hope, be a bit of fun, so I'd best get started on the admin.

Bear with me please & I'll get sorted.

Since we are (sadly) without Mere, do you want me to do the sums and reckoning up who's lost what and stuff this year?

I won't need all those spread sheets and shite, I can do it more or less roughly spot on in my head.

Morning Tom.

Excellent timing, that. I was going to write to Mere this morning, & ask him if he would do his usual job, which he has done every year for us.

To be honest, I was not relishing the prospect of writing to him just because I needed a favour, it did not feel right. I do keep in touch with him from time to time, & would love to see him back, but I don't want to put him in an awkward spot where it's an embarrassment to decline & he does it under duress.

So yes please, if you could look after things, I'd appreciate it.

I assume you are aware that the Job Brief includes Stake Arbiter/Umpire/Referee? We have never had a dispute, but that's partly because Mere was always very clear with rulings. And things do change as we go along - extra or missed events, rebuys, swaps, that sort of thing.

One area you will need to look at is exchange rate. The General Election takes place during this stake, & it's quite likely we will see some currency fluctuations, so we need a policy for both ends of the equation. I don't want either side to be advantaged or disadvantaged by currency movements, we just need to do it in a way that is fair to all.

Most investors are buying a %, which is fine, but we'll never have a firm, fixed total sum, so their stakes will need to be pro-rata.

Thanks Tom.

PS - There is a link at the bottom of my posts to last year's Spreadsheet which may prove helpful.

Note to Investors

I'll try & finalise the provisional schedule asap. In the meantime, the total sum is not known.

It looks to be around $14,000 (£10,785 at today's rates), so those who asked for a % have a rough idea of their likely spend. If anyone wants to buy a "fixed sum" (say, £100 instead of 1% etc) instead of a %, that's fine by me.

Simply amazing.

Some 40,000 people attend the Berkshire Hathaway Shareholders Meeting every year. Doubt any Shareholders Meeting anywhere on earth gets 1% of that number.

Messrs Buffett & Monger are masters of communication.

List of Stakers as of 10.30am 7th May

In a week or so, we'll sort out the payment details & dates.

It's great to see so many season ticket holders on the list, too.
