Hi Tony,
Just to let you know HMS Queen Elizabeth is due to " come home" to Portsmouth some time in October, all dependant on successful completion of sea trials and system checks.
The Navy have had to dredge the sea floor, to enable the ship to enter her home port, she is so big.
I can keep you informed of dates closer to the time , if you would like.
Thanks Nick.
If we are free we will certainly come down to have a look. It'll be a wonderful sight I fancy.
Not sure where the best viewing spots are though - any ideas?

It is bound to be extremely busy, all along the sea front, along the hot walls to the square tower and round tower. The Still and West pub ( magnificent Fish and chips served in paper ) will be packed but offer superb views. The Gosport side of the harbour, Gunwharf Quays and the Spinnaker Tower will all be busy, but again will be great for viewing.
If you come by train just go to Portsmouth Harbour and everything is within walking distance. Also, If you enjoy your naval history, the dockyard is a great destination with plenty to see.
I can get any information / leaflets and forward to you if you would like.

That's perfect Nick - we can get the train from Waterloo to Portsmouth Harbour and then play it by ear.
I imagine a lot of folks will be there.

As far as I can predict at this stage, the schedule is below. It could increase or decrease, more likely to decrease. Note that if I make any Day 2's, that will of course reduce it further if Day 2 clashes with the next comp.
There is a decent PLO/PLO8/O8 MTT on Monday 5th June, but Gill & I head off on the Amtrak West Coast Adventure at 0430 on the Tuesday, so it's probably best if I swerve playing an MTT which might run late on the Monday.
Thursday 8th June Binions PLO8 365
Sunday 11th June Venetian PLO8 600
Monday 12th June Aria PLO 465
Tuesday 13th June Venetian Big O 600
Friday 16th June WSOP PLO8/O8/BigO 1,500
Saturday 17th June Binions PLO 365
Sunday 18th June Planet Hollywood PLO/PLO8 600
Monday 19th June Venetian PLO 600
Wednesday 21st June WSOP PLO 1,500
Thursday 22nd June Aria PLO8 465
Friday 23rd June WSOP PLO8 1,500
Saturday 24th June Venetian PLO8 1,000
Sunday 25th June Golden Nugget PLO8 250
Monday 26th June Golden Nugget Big O 250
Tuesday 27th June Golden Nugget PLO8/O8/BigO 570
Friday 30th June Binions PLO 365
Saturday 1st July Venetian PLO8 1,100
Monday 3rd July Binions O8 475
Wednesday 5th July Venetian PLO/PLO8/BigO 1,100
TBA WSOP Satellite(s) to WSOP 10,000 PLO8 1,000
Bumped for Lady Lisa.
CORRECTION
The Monday event at Binions is a Limit jobbie, so I think I will swerve that.

Am playing a sedate Big O cash game, $1-$2-$5, most are sitting with about $300, a few of us have about $500.
Men the Master Nguyen sits in with $200.
This man has 7 WSOP bangles, over $10 million in live earnings, and more cashes on his THM than any other player I can recall.
He had a big draw in this game but it blanked out and he got scooped.
He has spent the last 20 minutes telling all and sundry how unlucky he was. Think he has repeated himself 20 times.
"Nut low draw, nut flush draw, gutshot. I can't lose this hand".
You'd think a man with so much experience would be used to it by now. It's Big O, it's swingy.
He pulls up another $200, rivers nut nut, everyone tables their hand, but it takes him an age before he declares nut nut.
Not shared a table with him before that I recall, but first impressions are that he is a thoroughly horrible little man.

Was having a coffee with Tal in Starbucks at The Rio this morning when Pippa and Tim Hi Diddly Hi Flanders stopped by, and I thought I would take a snap as we have mentioned them both a few times this trip.
Pippa has had MS since 1985, and last year to add to her woes she had a hip replacement.
She was bright, cheerful and happy, despite everything.
I know Tim does not have much of a fan club, but I think he has been a wonderful husband all those years, which can't be easy given the circumstances.
I think I first met Pippa at the EPT Dublin in 2004, in the PLO. It was her first ever attempt at the four card game, and she had no idea, but she ran the table ragged, eventually finishing 9th I think. I recall her tabling a bare ace in a flush board and wondering why she had not won.
Think that event was the first time I shared a table with Jeff Duvall, too.

On one of my tables at the Nugget, there was quite a discussion on The Master. There was quite a few tales of scummy things he has done and various places he has been banned from.
I did make the point if you are a prolific card counter you get pretty much banned everywhere straight away. If you cheat at poker, you only get banned from the one casino/chain and dare say a few of theses bans are less than permanent. Suspect the difference is who does the losing if there is a cheater in the game. Obviously this discussion was unrelated to Men.
Moving on, and genuinely unrelated to the above.
Do you know Miami John? He has quite some poker history. It was him I chopped with, and though I had heard of Miami John, I didn't know what he looked like. It was probably a good thing I didn't know who he was. Guess I should be honoured he wanted to chop with me.

I know John Cernuto, yes, and he has quite the CV.
Cashed at least once in every WSOP series for 25 years straight, which takes a bit of doing, especially as he is getting on in years.
He won the World Heads up in Vienna when it was organised by Jon Shoreham, but his speciality is hi-low.
How was the journey home?
Girls pleased to see you? Hope you got them some presents.

Journey was ok, but didn't sleep as much as I wanted, so yesterday was a struggle. And getting up wasn't pleasant, but hopefully back on UK time.
My youngest greated me with "where is my fidget spinner?", but sure they were pleased to see me.

I think Dave Ulliot dubbed Men "The Beast From The East" whilst beating him heads-up for a bracelet.
How much did we win in the BigO game?

A223J facing an all in 37k bet on the river on a board of 46QT. Big O.
Pot is 111k total after he bets. He is big blind and potted flop (25k).
You have him covered. He is big blind, you are in position. Flop call is marginal, but we have blockers to the other nut low draws.
Wug?

Think I'm folding here although NFD might make me reconsider - assuming this action is on the turn.

On turn. I am the only one left to act. Edit. No flush draws. Think it was rainbow.

Strange you mention these two together given they are top 2 on the all time tournie wins & cashes rankings ... some grinding over the years between them ( Men 95 tourney wins )

" The Master "was at my table last year behaving like a brat . In fact it was both him and Brandon Cantu which resulted in my immediate headphones on ultra loud
Well done on the $15 k Dave
