Level 3 over, first of 4 scheduled breaks.

110 of 118 remain.

Blinds now go 150-300, we have 15,900 from 15,000 starting.

Only one hand of note.

3 limpers to my button, and I have the beautiful, near perfect:

  Two Clubs three diamonds

I make it an even 1,000. (100-200).

Three callers.

How about this for a flop?

  three clubs

For those unfamiliar with O8, it is almost never +Ev to play this slow post flop, we can't really trap here. Chops are no good unless they are pork.

Just sounds like it was one of those games that are hard to get a foothold in, unlucky Mr T

You must be fairly pleased with your overall play on the trip. I know the 5/6 figure score hasn't come, yet, but the ITM % must be very good and you still made day 2 on some you narrowly missed and you seem to be playing some very solid poker!

Hopefully the games have generally been fun, the updates have certainly been excellent to read as always.

Morning all.

With nothing scheduled now until Wednesday, I had a bit of a look round to see if there were any little Tourneys I could play today, tomorrow, or Tuesday.

My eyes alighted on a little $120 PLO8 @ Orleans Casino, & I thought that might be fun, at little cost.

Then I looked at the juice - entry fee is $94, & the reg fee is $26.

Just the 28% then.

Think we'll swerve that.

Orleans also have an $80 PLO8 on Tuesday week. That's $58 + $22 reg fee. 38% juice? YBA.

There is also a WSOP $1,500 PL & NLH 8 handed "Mix" tomorrow (Monday). Mildly tempted by that, but will see how I feel tomorrow.

Do you find you are sensitive to rake when working out what to play?

Not normally Matt, no.

Think the situation is different when a player has sold action though.

Orleans is only $6 more rake in proportion to that of golden nugget and I'm sure players skills would make up for that or just try not to tip ( gl with that ) when you smash it Smiley   easier to get to from Rio than downtown too ( think Gold Coast have shuttle if really wanna rough it !!! )

Structures in the Orleans events are really fast, large number of dreadful players though. The PLO/NLHE ROE looks more inviting

Agree .  Sounds like it will depend on mood when he wakes up .  Get the impression he wanted a fun one when he wrote that.
I'm fine with him playing either as I'm sure most people are.   More exciting for us if the bigger one if he properly fancies it but the small fun one is a good back up if don't fancy wsop.

Jealous either way but glad I'm finally over jet lag ( don't remember ever being this bad for a Vegas trip out of the near 20 I've done )

I really didn't fancy that 200 + 50 at the Golden Nugget, especially as it became 400+100.  Until I ran good, I was pretty sure I was playing the 360+40 Hold Em at the Wynn the next day.  At least the dealers were mostly competent.  I'd probably play the 500+70 again, but don't think I'll bother with the 200+50 again.  I know I got a positive ROI from it, but it just feels a bit too much and we really should walk away.  They kind of compounded my annoyance by not to giving me any help with the ITIN and meaning I have to sort out the witholding from the UK.   If I was a bit more awake I should have made the tip conditional on them helping me with it

I am going to be a bit more selective with Stars from now on too.  There are other ways I can use my time better these days.  Unfortunately we are kind of limited where we can play O8.

Raise.

Like you care about us poor stakers back in blighty.......
1) You have more than one occasion on this trip got to day 2 in comps and then busted before the cash.
2) You have then 'given away' a large % of our winnings by tipping the dealers too much after a win.
3) You did not employ Jeeves this year to keep you under control. You have prob spent all the profit in Lap dancing clubs and by going to back street reefer parties.

Joking aside (all the above is banter, just in case anyone takes it the wrong way), I think you should go for that MIX game.....just sit out on the NLH orbits and you will piss it.
