One thing that I do feel that it is necessary to clear up, is that when Boldie and his lovely missus were visiting Nottingham a week or two back I did manage to establish something that most regular forum users must have been dying to know, and after posing the burning question this is from the horse's mouth.

"Boldie" was not originally a typo...

sigh....he's not even wrong..every single bloody person I meet asks me this.

Did you mean to type Baldie?

That earns you a kick in the bollox the next time we meet.  Smiley

Yeah, but did you?

No,..no I did not.

if you're still interested you can make any reasonable offers to my usual representatives

After today, I'm not scheduled to do another Thursday (Five-O night) until the end of May, 6 weeks away,

Travesty if you ask me - why keep the best pairing on poker Tv off the air until then??
Oi!!

Sorry - current best pairing. You and Tikay are currently divorced. I just hope for the sake of us children you manage to get back together, we have been badly damaged by the split. Look at all the fighting on here since you two separated.

Yes, working with Compo was a dream come true for me, he's just amazing fun, & like Sky Poker's Richard Orford, the toppest of top Pros in TV. Both of them appear natural, & seem to talk off the cuff. The amazing thing about both of them is after all those years in TV, they still meticulouisly reserarch & prepare for every single TV Show, they spend hours boning up on the background to Guests, proper Pros, both of them. I'm blessed to have, even as an amateur, worked with them both. I run so good. The legend Horse-Racing Bloke Sir Peter O'Sullivan, another seemingly "off-the-cuff" merchant was the same - spent all night getting his facts & figures memorised.

Getting back to Compo, he features in Sky Poker's "Sunday Showdown". All the Presenters & Analysts took turns to play The Open, Live on TV, & the best three qualified for the Sunday Showdown Final. I think he finished 15th to qualify as the best Presenter & Analyst. Poker has bought me into contact wirh so many lovely peeps, & Compo is near the top of that list. Don't read between any lines here - I just like the fella. A lot. He's poo at poker though, a complete & utter fish.

Hopes are dimming for a new "Poker Week", but we continue to try & find a Sponsor, & Channel, that will fund it. Not easy. But it was fun while it lasted, so no regrets, & my cup continues to runneth over.

Good Luck Chili!

She returns for the Final Day of the Gala Notts GBPT thingie. 43 return, she is just about bang on average chip, with 52,000, Blinds 1k - 2k.

I rung her to wish her luck, & she says she has had a positive vibe that she will win this. I hope she does.

Unlike the GUKPT, she has no %'s out, so it'll be all hers.

Get it won Girlie.

Fashion is a weird thing. Someone says something, & we all copy it, a sort of catchphrase. It's always been so, I wonder why?

Off the top of my head, I can think of Tommy Trinder, comedian & some-time Fulham FC Chairman - "you lucky people". And that Sunday Night at the London Palladium Compere - "swinging" (thumbs up) or "dodgy" (thumbs down). "Ooh, the dust in here" was Larry Grayson. "'Phone a friend" came into the venacular thanks to Mr Tarrant, "Hello my Darlings" was Charlie Drake, & so many more. "Like it - not a lot" was that chump Daniels, "now then now then" was Saville. There must be hundreds.

It then spread to sports & spectating. Who can forget that oaf who first shouted, as the Golfer teed off, or putted out, "IN THE HOLE"? I'd shoot him given half a chance, it spread like wildfire, & became so tiresome.

And poker has developed it's whole sub-genre.

We had "fish", mug, "nits" in currently in vogue. "Jpke" ran it's course, "ship it" was followed by "ship" (currently "shib it"), "holla", FTW (what does that mean?) & the one I most disliked "ONE TIME". Like life is a bitch, & there's someone with enough disposable income to piss it away playing poker, a game in which luck plays such a huge part, as a recreation.

"fkmylife" is the current one. Ditto. I can't help but think of those who really could say that. But they mostly don't or can't play poker. I can't say I've ever heard a geezer in a wheelchair say it. I know, it's just kids, having fun, not meaning ill.

I always liked -aments. Somehow it conveyed a sense of "so what, it's just a bloody game".

Miserableoldgitaments?
