and before anyone thinks it I am not saying he is a fish for folding AA- I am saying anyone who says good fold/wp etc is treating him like a fish. He should be told why it isn't the correct fold so from now on he wont make the same mistake again. I think flushy and karl have probably explained why its a poor fold better than I could.

against the ridiculously tight range of TT+, AK the AA is only a 2-1 dog on that board.

we only have to add AQ and KQ into the mix to make it a 50/50 and even that is too tight a range.

AA is fave here against anyone but the nittiest of nits

but tikay is not re-raising AQ and KQ pre (in this type of situation out of the blinds against this player) . In my experience.

I agree, as stated what seems like ages ago on this thread

tikay has to have a premium top 5-6 hand to rr pre here, therefore should be calling a shove pre.

Equally Sicilian explained why he deviated from this normal course of action in this instance.

Oh Lordy Lordy, what is this Forum coming to? A really interesting hand gets discussed - & it is fascinating, in so many ways which have not even been mentioned - & the Flaming starts, & we end up deleting chunks of Posts - the first Deletions I can recall frrom this Diary, which I'd always hoped to keep pretty civil.

I started this Forum because I was hacked off at the juvrenile nonsense that existed at the time on Betfair, Gutshot, & even Hendon Mob, (now cleaned up, & a much better place than it was 4 years ago), & I wanted somewhere that grown-ups could debate sensibly.

And it's all going so downhill.

If I were a little younger, I'd start again, & make it "Invite Only", I really would. I just wanted a place where we could chat through interesting poker situations without resorting to playground language, abuse, & verbal bullying from behind keyboards.

There were so many aspects of that AA v KK hand which interested me, but it descended into "my cock is bigger than yours" sorta stuff, marvellous.

Sheesh.

I'll try again tomorrow, maybe later, one last time, & go through why I felt the hand was so interesting, & also, try to answer some of the questions asked of me in the debate.

It's been e-Mail City today, I must have exchanged a hundred or more. That included writing to a currently Banned Member & telling him he ain't a-coming back yet awhile. Cue blog-based attacks on the Mods, & myself, watch out for it, give it 24 hours, those who get Banned almost all do the same thing. It's incessant, & wearing, & the Mods have to keep schtum. These folks say "I don't want to be on blonde", but kick them off, & they wail & scream like babies, while we keep quiet, say nothing in response, & have to listen to their inane blathering. Yikes.

Seen Fergus's Blog? It's lovely stuff. If a 7 year old spoke like that, you'd tell him to grow up. But he's had one "Comment" on there, "......go burn in a fire you c***.......". Now, where have I seen that turn of phrase recently......

These Banned Members rip the Mods to shreds from behind a keyboard, but when I meet them socially, or at a poker table, they don't say a word, they are all sweetness & light, "oh, hello tikay, la de da de da".

I had 11 PM's today, (I'm still behind with replies, sorry), mostly cool, one of which said.....

"Are you afraid of spiders?". Hmm.....Lightens the day I guess.

But what about Brian Wilson returning? When you least expect it, too. Interesting.

Tonight's blonde League Game got over 50 Runners, whahoo. Well done Kev, & many thanks to all the genuine blondes for helping support the CardRoom. Without that revenue, blonde ceases, it's that simple. An entry by a Banned Member on my Facebook says "blonde has changed, they only run it for the money now". Err.....well, actually, we are trying to find enough dosh to pay the wages every month, & that's as far as we can see right now. One Senior Staffer has not drawn a penny in wages in 5 months, & I've never drawn a penny in wages, exs, or dividends, & have no desire to. But we have a fiduciary duty (decode that for the stone-throwers please Rich,) to maximise revenue. Always have done, it's Company Law, & the "silent" Shareholders are not so silent when they see nil return on their investment.

Right, that's that off my chest. Reply in any way you wish, but keep it civil, or the Post goes, & so does the Poster.

And before you say it.....there, I've taken a deep breath. Wink

PS - While I've been venting off, & writing this, the AA v KK debate has re-started - & re-started splendidly, with good constructive Posts, exactly as originally intended. A forum is a thing of moods & temperature, it ebbs & flows. Why can't it always be sensible, rather than stupid name-calling & offensive insults?

With the benefit of hindsight and who was making the re pop O/P the pre reshove is the optimum play... i have to reluctantly agree

However I like to mix up what i do with big pairs pre and have caught many overplaying there hand post.

for what its worth i had exactly the same scenario  12 out at APAT and re shoved a nit... and lost him when he finally folded JJ pre... if i smoothed that time  and it comes a sub Jack flop i get it all.

Any other flop and i get it all post... however i kicked myself as i didn't think the hand deep enough at the time.

I don't think Tikay leads with AK for the flopped nuts..think he lets me hang myself with C/R allin.

I also have redraws if he has flopped a set.. I think i was caught off guard a bit by the confident pot bet post  which would have yelled kings ( overpair and up and down )

So, the news on Seve Ballesteros (I mentioned his health issue a few days back on here) is that he has a brain tumour. That's so terrible.

Thinking back, it's some story, the Seve tale. A child prodigy, always wayward - we wanted & expected him to be wayward, so we could see his jaw-dropping recovery shots. I had so much fun, down the years, watching Seve, a true legend.

But his talent faded with age, & the hecklers started - heckling is what folks do so readily these days, because, I supect, it needs no thought - and it was such a sad thing to see him mocked, as he hacked round, regularly, in the high eighties before he eventually gave best & retired, a sad & belittled man. He deserved better, & shame on the heckling classes, because he should have became an elder statesman of golf, but it was not to be.

Let's hope he recovers fully, or at least, his condition alows him to live, or even die, with the dignity he so richly deserves for all the fun he gave us.

When Seve was on the course, two words were always heard. "Fore left", or "Fore right". But those recovery shots.

Get well soon Seve, you are a hero to so many of us.

Did everyone see that Post by Camel on the Brian Wilson thread? Awesome. Keith is a proper man, & has lovely "touch" with words Very much like Tank, if I may say so, they both have quite splendid touchy-feely writing style. Tank wrote about something today that "scratches his brain" - now that's class writing, because we all knew exactly what he mean't, but few could describe it so eloquently.

I am going to write to Mr Camel & congtratulate him on his Post. Add to list.

missed this one earlier. so you've dismissed AK so the range you now have him on is TT-KK yes?

that makes it almost a flip post flop (you're about 44%) and with the money already in the pot you need to put in 5k to win a 14k pot. I can't see why you don't want to get it in here
