back of the envelope its 30th nuts

All the pairs 99 and up, plus 33

All the Ax hands

All the 10x hands

beat 88, and total 29 hands

Surely wrong by a MILE, unless I've gone doo-lally!

Add ANY hand containing a King.

ANY hand containng a Queen.

ANY hand containing a Jack

ANY hand containing a Nine.

Quad 10's.

Quad Aces.

If you're including every possible combo then it fookin hundreds.

I was only interested in the card that mattered.

AA is the nuts but it's equal nuts with A 10.

10 10 is second nuts but how can it be when there's 2 hands above it? I know they can't happen concurrently but A 10 is the equal 1st nuts so TT must be 3rd nuts.

I'm not going to sleep tonight worrying about this.

Thanks TK

Definitely 65th nuts - unless my maths is wrong.  Which is VERY likely.

If we're being pedantic then you're miles out.

Ax is not 13. You need to include every other card in the deck other than the 88 that he's got and what's on the board. Ax is more like 46 but then you need the other Ax as well which is 45.

Keep going until we all drop dead.

So we seem to have settled on 8 high being in the range of 65th to 70th nuts here - have you ever been called by worse?

We BOTH still had meaningful stacks behind, so Fold Equity never entered the equation, though he was getting about 3/1 the Call, on the end, after my exquisitely sized value bet.

Well the answer - ignoring suits/flushes - must be a definitive number. What is it?

65th.

AA, AK, AQ, AJ, AT, A9, A8, A7, A6, A5, A4, A3, A2 = 13
KK, KQ, KJ, KT, K9, K8, K7, K6, K5, K4, K3, K2 = 12
QQ, QJ, QT, Q9, Q8, Q7, Q6, Q5, Q4, Q3, Q2 = 11
JJ, JT, J9, J8, J7, J6, J5, J4, J3, J2 = 10
TT, T9, T8, T7, T6, T5, T4, T3, T2 = 9
99, 98, 97, 96, 95, 94, 93, 92 = 8
33 = 1

Total = 64.

Ignoring suits, all hands in yellow beat 88. Count them up there are 64, therefore, and whisper this quietly, I think Kinboshi was right.

I never had 9-9. But 9 high would beat 8 high. I think.

Which is a lovely way of graphically representing the answer.

Except the graph is titled "tikaysfolly", & we have not established it was a bad play by me, or what my hand was.

You always assume the worst as to my plays, it's intolerable.
