Speaking of airplanes and variance...

You know when they tell you to adopt the brace brace position.

I heard that the reason they do that is not to increase your odds of surviving an accident (because not much can), but simply because it helps preserve your dental records thus aiding the identification of your corpse.

True or bollox?

Bollox, of the absolute variety.

I've had some pain/discomfort, in my upper body/shoulder area, for over a week, & it's getting worse, & keeps me awake now

If it were only possible to get advice from someone with specialist knowledge of this sort of thing.

They could collect several of these "Specialists" together, and station them in strategic positions around the country. If you didn't know which kind of "Specialist" to see, you could first seek advice from a sort of general ailments chap, who could point you in thee right direction, or maybe even cure you himself.

Sounds wonderful doesn't it? Well don't get too excited. This plan has one major flaw. Namely, it assumes a modicum of common sense on the part of the person with the problem.

Ah well... Never mind. Tell us a train story.

Lol, behave Tom.

If we all went to the quacks evey time we had an ache or a pain, the NHS would collapse under the strain.

What do you think people did before Doctors were invented? (Banstick for anyone who ventures the opinion "they died").

They died much younger and from things that can now be diagnosed and treated.

FACT!

Oh FFS. dead people can't work - now get yourself to a doctor or chiropractor and get it fixed. What is the point in pain unless you've paid for it and it's administered by a woman wearing thigh length leather boots? Sort it out.

A few random 'photos from the last few weeks, then I gotta be off.

Spotted this in Leicester Square a few weeks ago - an ambulance bike!

Neat, eh?

When we film outside, in poor light (no sunshine) they use this device to sort of reflect light onto our faces.

Holding it is the lovely Anneka, this was also in Leicester Square.

The neat trick with that reflector jobbie is folding it up, it folds down to fit in a very small bag, but it takes some folding, to be honest, it requires a knack to do it. We used to let Rhow fold it up. Hours & hours of fun.

"Well stop worrying, & that'll cure it".

Now I mean, ffs,. How can you stop worrying, if you are made that way? As advice went, it was as daft as it gets.

If you went to see the doc a little more often than once every 19 years and establish a proper doctor/patient relationship with him, he would get to know you a little more, be better able to see the bigger picture and thusly better able to offer advice and treatment specifically tailored to you that might be helpful.

Bit unfair to dismiss the usefulness of medical professionals who see you less often than they see Hailey's comet.

This was in The Empire - as you can see, this Filming Lark is all go.

This is, left to right, Jill, Charlie, & Anneka. AKA, The Three Wise Monkeys, Say No Evil, See No Evil, Hear No Evil.

The Filming days are long, & we don't do much, to be honest, so we have a little fun aslong the way, & when there is work to be done, it gets doned, & doned properly, too. On a small budget, the results are pretty spectacular, all things considered. I mean, it's tough to make Compo & I look good, yeah?

It's exactly the same as running a car.  If you have it checked and serviced regularly then any problems can be diagnosed early before they become a big problem that requires a lot of work.  This is especially true for old bangers.
