Hi everyone, flying solo here today. The final table will be starting shortly and held over in the newly furbished room just behind the TD's desk by the cardroom. Swanky little area being used for the first time ever today. In the future it's going to be used for private/high stakes games and can be partioned into two areas.

Useless fact alert! There were 1276 attempted qualifiers to make the Grand Prix, funnily enough, Jeff Burke was one of the very first and is favourite to win this comp now.

chris,

will you pass on best wishes to Jeff Burke from all the pace family please?

I was lambasted last night for referring to him as Jeff 'Fred Elliott' Burke, but he's a nice, friendly chap, so wish him all the best from me too. Thx.

I was about to say it's all very nip and tuck with not many flops being seen. Then V Madan button raises and Paul Rogers calls, they see a three clubs flop.

All the chips go in with Rogers easily covering Madan.

Madan:

Rogers:

Turn:

River:

two hearts

V Madan is OUT in 9th place winning £4,000

Rogers is now chip leader.

I am currently curled up on my sofa nursing some kind of evil flu, so thanks Mr NoFlops for taking over updating duties. Good luck everyone!

Jeff Burke is doing more raising than anyone else so far. Short-stacked Paul Vicary came over the top once and Jeff passed his 5-2o to much amusement.

Incidentally the blinds start at 5k/10k with about 30 minutes of the level remaining.

Ashfag Ahmed raises to 30k in early position, Marcus Bebb-Jones re-raises full pot from the button, a quick fold from all the other players, including Ashfag.

Antony Kennedy button raises and takes the blinds.

Jeff raises to 33k and takes the last set of 5k/10k blinds.

Blinds now up to 6k/12k

Before the tournament started, Marcus Bebb-Jones advocated taking off £10k from each of the top 3 spots and topping up the lower spots. I don't think there was a general consensus for this, but it wouldn't surprise me to see a deal when there's 3 or 4 left.
