There is something that has been bothering me since we got here yesterday. If I was ever annoyed about the smoking ban last July taking away our rights and telling us what to do bla bla, then I take it all back right now. I had forgotten what it feels like to have smoke in your face all the time and the smell of cigarettes on your clothes when you take them off at the end of the night.
Anyhow, amazingly you can even smoke in the arena where the EPT is being played! Not actualy at the tables themselves but in the gangway going down the middle of the tables.
Just as I typed that Chris came back from the room to say they made an announcment NOT to smoke in the tournament area from now on. Haha bad beat for the smokers

Arnaud Mattern bets 1,875 on the river of a
board, Jeff Kimber calls but mucks when he sees Arnaud's
.
On a board of K-Q-8-3-7, a player (we're still waiting for the tournament lists) bets 1,850 into Marc Karam who says, "King-Queen or Jack-Ten?" (I'm guessing he can beat the latter). He makes the call with
which gets an insta-muck from his opponent.
There's a shout and a groan from a centre table which attracts reporters like flies to blobs of jam, turns out just to be a
board with
and
being the hands. Shame it was all-in preflop.
I saw a huge number of blue chips in the centre on a
board, one player had bet 1,500 only to have his erstwhile opponent move in behind him eventually he made the call and an expectancy. The re-raiser all-in showed
whilst the player who had made the call turned over
which held for a 18k pot.
We're just on a short-break while players get some food, but apparently there is NO proper dinner break so we will just be playing straight through all the way meaning we'll be finished by 9pm tonight. The leanest EPT in history?

Damn inexistent smoking ban, I seen English updaters falling off the wagon last night...

In more amusing news, there had to be a semi-table redraw when all FIVE Betsson players, including
Johnny
Lodden
,
Henning
Granstad
, and Gunner Osterbrod (pictured below - and who Maria really really really really really does not fancy. Honest) all got put on the same starting table. So three of them got moved. Anyone remember a situation like this happening before?
Why would this re-draw happen? Is it because 5 people from the same stable can't be trusted not to collude? Or because Betsson have some sort of right to seeding to keep some of their players apart in the early stages?

Rob Taylor is up to the early heights of 19k, while over on Julian's 'Whole Load of Crazy' table one player to his right limp re-raises all-in from under the gun, something he's apparently done 3 times already. The scandinavian in the pot, (to Julian's right) eventually makes the call with
, but this time he runs into
the board coming 8-Q-J-4-J.
The player list is coming soon! Bear with us.
No, the player on the left is not eating a ferret. That is actually his beard.

Katja
Thater
has lost a good chunk of her chips unfortunately and is down to about 5k. She raised preflop to 500 and was reraised by matey to 1,500 which Katja gave a spin to see this flop:
it was checked twice
Turn:
check check again
River:
Katja checked but matey made a 2,250 bet. Katja picked up a chunk of blue 1k chips and threw in 6 of those in total. Matey called rather quickly already deciding that Katja didn't have an Ace, with
which was good against Katja's
.

I don't see many big big names in the list for today although Natalio Jose Camacho Casado seems quite meaty.
Someone who doesn't mind creating art pieces with his chips, but why the tictacs?
Rolf
Slotboom
And with that we move swiftly into Level 4 and 100/200 blinds.

Ray Wyre is OUT, 7-7 vs A-J, all-in on the turn of a J-J-6-4-A board.
Thewy is down to about 5k. After the affore-mentioned A-Q vs A-A. Thewy called a raise on the button with K-J and Mr A-Q previous hand man called as well from the small blind.
The flop was K-3-3 with two suits and straight away the small blind moved in for 6k into the 2k pot. The other raiser flat-called with 2k back and Thewy put him in for his last 2k which the guy surprisingly passed for. The small blind was indeed on tilt as he turned over K-5 but spiked the 5 on the turn.
Julian said, "I'll probably get a lot of stick for the call but I felt there was a good chance I was ahead and could've built up to 30k if I win that pot, and if I lose I still have 8k left."

Some chip counts from the players I recognise, there really are a lot of European players I don't know but I shall endevour to learn today. If anyone wants a player following then just ask and me or Floppy shall oblige to stalk them.
Arnaud Mattern 8,600
Jeff Kimber 10,200
Dave Penly 7,600 ("had an accident" he says that's what he gets for calling a raise with J6 spades but gets suckered in with a K 9 6 board, 2 spades. He didn't improve though and 6 was no match for pocket Aces!"
Bengt Sonnert 11,500
Rolf Slotboom 16,900 (his tictacs are getting closer to his nose)
Julian Thew 4,400
Christoffer Egemo Hansen 15,600
Katja Thater 5,400
Gunnar Ostebrod 13,600
Jonas Molander 12,300
Johnny Lodden 9,500
Markus Golser 10,600 (nice jacket, picture proof to follow).
