If you are over 40 and of a nervous disposition, look away now.
There I was, driving to the Circus Casino in Luton yesterday, minding my own business, when suddenly...
Nigel fell off the roof of Lower Loxley Hall while trying to untie a banner!
Ambridge was shaken to the core.

You've whooshed 95% of the world there Tom.
The Archers FTW.
Good to see you at G-Luton on Saturday, a shame we never got to share a table. There is (or should that be "are"?) a nice blend of characters amongst the regulars there, & I hope you'll come down to G-Luton a little more in the future.

Just trying to summon up the courage to venture out on my morning walk. (With a few hundred yards of gentle jogging thrown in)
But.... The freezing rain is falling sideways out there, and my little caravan is so cosy....

I made a Bad play which resulted in my exiting the £150 at Luton Circus prematurely in 13th place.
I don't mind going out of poker tournaments in the slightest,. (God knows I've had enough practice) But when I make a balls up, like I did last night, I'm mortified. I spent most of last night swearing at myself instead of sleeping.
I won't forgive myself for ages.
So, al la the recent fashion...

Burst # 1 was where the water inlet for the lavatory cistern joins the ballcock. (Easy fix)
Burst # 2 was a part on the washing machine that, after removing it and driving it around Leicester for a couple of hours, I now know is called a "Solenoid valve"
Couldn't get an exact replacement, but got one that the bloke assures me can be adapted to fit....
Flooding is fairly extensive, so once I have mended the leaks, I will have to take up the lino and remove the plinths from the furniture.
So, nothing too serious compared to some....
I would just like to thank you for this Tom.
I had a leaky washing machine and was told it would be £79 for the dude to come round and fix it.
After reading this post I thought I'd give it a go myself. How tough could it be??
£25 for a new solenoid valve and about 12 minutes of my time and it's done!!
I wouldn't have even thought about trying were it not for reading this. I figured if you could do it there was no reason I couldn't other than laziness.
Thanks for the inspiration. Nice little saving

I'm loving all the new diaries.
Soon everyone on blonde will have one, and then, who knows, we could become the next Facebook.
PS- If it's OK, I'll take my 9 billion now please.

PS- If it's OK, I'll take my 9 billion now please.
Facebook issued some shares yesterday to raise some funding. It valued Facebook at £32 billion, which is more than the value of Boeing, aka "The Boeing Company".
FT's Lex has FB as a strong "sell". Barely a month ago shares were trading privately at an amount that valued Facebook at £24 billion, so it's gained £8 billion of value inside a month. GROSS revenue last year (NOT net profit) was £2 billion. Time Warner's revenues last year were £24 billion, yet it's said to be worh less than FB.
Facebook has been in existence just a few years.
A comparision between the two Companies (FB & Boeing) social worth is interesting, too.....One is a wonderful time-saver, the other a time-sponge. One runs a piece of clunky software, the other has designed & manufactured 1,000's of incredibly safe & reliable aeroplanes.
I don't much understand things these days, but I'm pretty sure another dotcom bubble is currently on the cards.
