Burst # 1 was where the water inlet for the lavatory cistern joins the ballcock. (Easy fix)
Burst # 2 was a part on the washing machine that, after removing it and driving it around Leicester for a couple of hours, I now know is called a "Solenoid valve"
Couldn't get an exact replacement, but got one that the bloke assures me can be adapted to fit....
Flooding is fairly extensive, so once I have mended the leaks, I will have to take up the lino and remove the plinths from the furniture.
So, nothing too serious compared to some....

Interesting story about the 25 year old woman gone missing in Bristol, have you read it Tom? Have a read and let me know what you think.
I can't see a link to it on there Vin, but I saw it on the news last night. Those poor parents must be going out of their minds.
Both you and I know what it's like to lose a child, but at least we know what happened to ours, and we know that they were surrounded by love right up to the end. This poor girl might be in the hands of a monster.
The pizza box thing is baffling btw
Agree with the pizza box thing, i also find it strange that this couple were madly in love, the boyfriend was away for the weekend, which is fine, he text her and called her but she didn't reply, but that's ok because that was normal??
I'm always very sceptical when they have weeping parents/partners doing press conferences. I hope i'm wrong.
Mrs Red & I said the same thing.
Husband/Boyfriend always prime suspect.
Bit disappointing Tom. Bit like me saying there is a Gypsy family in our area and the kids bike has went missing, it must have been them.
Police have arrested her landlord on "suspicion" of her murder btw,

Not the same thing at all actually Geo.
The husband/boyfriend
is
always the prime suspect, and my observations were
not
based on the fact that the boyfriend belonged to any particular race, creed, or ethnic minority.
As it happens, they were based on the fact that, as far as I knew, the boyfriend didn't report her missing for several days. Yes I know that he was visiting his parents, but who doesn't phone his girlfriend while he's away?
If I'm honest, I'm a tiny bit disappointed that you drew that comparison.

Apparently they have arrested the landlord. It reminds me of the Soham murders. The murderer comes forward saying he saw the girls and it was him that killed them. The landlord comes forward saying he saw her leave the flats with other people and he is arrested. There must be a profiling thing here? Very interesting.

Well this was the scene at about 3pm yesterday Dawn.
At this point I had, with the help of my daughter Muzelley, just about stopped everything leaking.
We didn't come off too badly in the end. The portacabin stands about 1ft clear of the ground so the water drained away fairly quickly.
We had to take up the lino, which in turn meant moving all the kitchen units, the washer, the dryer, the gas-cooker. the fridge, and the settee.
Mrs Red couldn't help us because she is laid up with flu. (Judging by the amount of food she ate yesterday, I think it must be swine flu)

Someone had to take the hit now that you've gone on a (well planned?) mid-holidays diet. Can't have all that good food going to waste. Poor woman is just doing her bit for the team. Hope she's better soon or yer diet will be gone to wreck.

I couldn't find our vacum cleaner Henry anywhere yesterday.
Eventually I gave up looking because I had to go into Leicester to buy a replacement part for the one that had burst in the washing machine.
I went to this huge electrical appliance store. There were flashing lights and loud music, there seemed to be party of some kind going on.
Anyway, the upshot is, Henry is grounded for a fortnight.

While out walking this morning, I met a cow with a crumpled horn.
Unfortunately, there was absolutely no sign of a maiden all forlorn.

Atkin's diet might permit a little indulgence.

Well see if you can get a 4-rib roast off the farmer for me!!!
Proper old breed - grows slowly, hardy as hell, I've never managed to get hold of some (and it costs a fortune to buy it online) - but I will get some someday.
