Great pictures, congrats on the new arrivals. Don't envy you having to part with them though.
BTW have you ever come across this book? Think it might interest you.

No I haven't but it's £1.70 on Kindle so I've just downloaded it. Thanks for the heads up.
BTW- If you like roguish tales of country pursuits, hunting, poaching, dog breeding etc, read anything by D Brian Plummer.

Ahh Tales Of A Rat Hunting Man, who could resist a title like that? Think I must have read it a long time ago, will have to refresh my memory.
PS the Amateur Poacher is a whole £1.70 cheaper to download in kindle version from Gutenberg.org

You really know how to hurt a man Simon, doubly so if Mrs.Red sees that.

She's ready for a nice bath but I'm going to wait until the puppies are a few days older.
That's not mud on her legs btw, it's her apricot socks.

She's looking well, Tom.
It's just in our (my?) imagination, but she looks like a proud Mum.

No, it's not your imagination, like virtually all mums she is incredibly proud of her babies and squirms with delight when we bill and coo over them.
She still has a mother's protective instinct though. She doesn't mind us picking them up to admire them but if we hold on to one of them for too long she reaches up and puts her paw on it to remind us to put it back.

Yes, they are all going Rich. (I think)
Adjusting to them going is a fairly gentle process for Poppy, and it's started already.
For the first few days after they were born she wouldn't leave them for more than a few seconds, and then only to answer a call of nature. Now, when they are asleep she will leave them for up to about five minutes and even take a little walk.
Their eyes and ear canals will open this week, and they will start to get more rambunctious and demanding, but at the same time they will start the weaning and socialisation process, she will get used to one or another of them going missing for a while, and by eight weeks she won't mind so much when they go.
When the last one leaves it is always a bit of a wrench the but we will fuss her and distract her for a few days older and she'll be fine.
This is her taking a little walk and then relaxing while they sleep.

She's a loveable looking so and so, fantastic personality even just in a photo.
Who's getting the red dog then and will he be the toughest to let go?

She's an absolute sweetheart Ralph and a pleasure to own. Everyone loves her, she's a real comedian. She makes us laugh every day.
I don't know who is getting the red dog, two people have reserved puppies but they haven't chosen which ones they are having yet.
It will be tough letting him go, but then again I'm getting to know them all as individuals now so I suppose they will all be tough.
