Had to mow the lawn today as the mild weather has led to it keep growing

My lawn needs mowing too but it's very wet. I have a petrol motor mower, do you think I can mow it when it's this wet ?

Is it a cylinder mower or a rotary?

It's a Qualcast Petrol motor mower with a roller back wheel and the blades are on a spindle that rotate from front to the back of the mower if that makes sense, so I'll guess cylinder not rotary ?

It has a carbureter and a spark plug, a 2 stroke engine I think.

Oh and most importantly you get stripes on the lawn. Smiley

Perfect.

I wouldn't advise using a cylinder mower in anything bit mildly damp conditions. Ceartanly not if the grass is wet or the ground soft under foot.

Great mower though. It will last us all out. Here's a pic of an old campaigner that's still going strong after many years.

Note the aluminium side panels. You don't get those on inferior models.

I recall some pretty salacious fish pie talk here a while back. So, this morning I made a fish pie - here's the constructed dish

Not unlike Ralph's recipe suggestions:

Fish - I like Salmon and Prawns so they're in there with some smoked haddock.

Some hard boiled eggs quartered, pretty delish white sauce, plenty of capers, peas and parsley topped with some lovely buttery mash.

Into the Fridge for a few hours

Later on we'll add some cheese to the top and cook this baby - if I remember, we'll have some post baking pics later

Looks and sounds fabulous Glen.

Please may we have cooked and cut into pictures and an after meal report?

Definitely not just a Mrs Red thing.

It's very strange. And can be annoying, especially when you're not watching the telly and you keep saying 'pardon' just in case she has offered to make a tea and you missed the question.

I was listening to a debate about the continuing fall in fuel prices this morning and one geezer said it was partly because the petrol age is coming to an end.

"Oh no it isn't" says geezer number two, "we have massive reserves of oil still available" To which geezer number one replies, "Well the stone age didn't end because we ran out of stone".

This tree fell over when there was no one there. This morning I asked it if there was any sound but it was totally silent.

Because it didn't make a noise.
