Why do hikers / ramblers or whatever, need those two ski-pole oojackamapivvys to walk with?
They call it Nordic Walking Tom, quite a few up this way are into it. Apparently started as a post winter training method for those x country skiing types.

Well the ramblers around here have them, along with their maps and backpacks etc, and they wouldn't recognise a ski boot if you kicked them up the arse with one.

Plan A:
"Workers are due on Monday to start drilling an escape shaft going about 700m (2,300ft) underground, which is likely to take four months to complete"
Plan B:
"Engineer Walter Herrera told reporters: "We can broaden the hole that is already there with the latest generation machines and using a wider diameter bore"
Plan C:
"Psychologists would try to help them through an intercom system"

Lol. It looks like a saluki cross. incredible speed & stamina, but a little lacking in the marble department.
The owner is geeing it up, it has to run, but there's no where to go.

Nothing more than making a kind of 'shhhhh' noise... the black one doesn't need much encouragement, she doesn't chase her tail, just runs round in circles when the two of them get playing.
Whereas the brown one can chase her tail faster than any dog I've ever seen, spinning with one hind foot hardly moving, just acting as the pivot. I will attempt to video it with my new phone!

I'm interested in this Rio. Do they only do it in confined spaces, (i.e indoors) or do they do it outside in the open too?

I've only ever seen them do it indoors. Last night when the the black one (Rosie) was having her 'turn', the door was open and she could have run out into the garden. Often when they are playing they will run out into the garden, chase around out there, come charging back through into the lounge where Rosie will do her Tasmanian Devil impersonation before they disappear again.

I've seen a few dogs do it, (Although not as energetically as that) but its always been indoors or in a pen or something.

Mrs Red never stopped to draw breath!
"How was the Holiday, Mrs Red?", & off she went.
PS - Had a lovely afternoon Tom, thank you, the tea (china mugs ftw) was how tea should be, the toast not quite so.
PPS - Mrs Red's directions to circumvent the road works were poo.
