Btw- What's happening at Clifton power station?

During the last few months, they've turned it into a fortress complete with double fencing, razor wire, arc lights, spots, and pairs of armed guards patrolling the perimeter.

They had a load of global warming demonstators kicking off there a few moths ago, they just haven't taken the defences down.

My direct debit for gas/electric is £66pm for my small flat, which I would guess is around 2/3rds gas.

My electric bill for the last quarter was £466.48p

Complained to e-on about it got past around different departments and was advised to keep quiet cos i was on a good rate.

Burnt 2750 kwh.

It was still peeing me off so i had another go at them today, got a result, was told my contract comes up for renewal in February so i can have the best rate if i pay by direct debit.

Outcome, for burning the same 2750 kwh my payment on new contract will be £242.17p.
Saving me £224.31p

Robbing barstewards springs to mind, good job i could be bothered to have another go at them.

Hope this helps others to have a go at them.

To add to my bills , i am oil fired heating averaging £33.30p a week.

How much (Roughly) does it cost pw to heat a 2/3 bedroom house during the winter months?

Just checked our last four bills... gas usage came out at £8.70 / week over the year, that includes heat, hot water and cooking for a [smallish] 3 bed detached house - just two people.

8.70 a week ?

our gas comes in at about 140 quid a month.

There's a good reason for this...

when I was in ukraine I used to pay about £1.50 a month for gas. that was hot water, cooking and heating a 2 bed appartment with no double glazing and -15degrees outside

much cheaper in summer
