Quote
Nine times out of ten everyone would have been thrown out, and this would have ended up in the local paper "GYPSIES ARRESTED AFTER DRUNKEN RAMPAGE"

We often talk about that night.  It really was such a great time.  The only bad memories we've ever recalled revolve around the ape of a hotel manager.  Others think we're kind of odd considering the 4 star treatment he gave us.  I guess we saw his true colours and weren't impressed.

News from the bird table.

After 3 weeks, the dunnocks have finally realised that millet sprays are edible. Either that, or they don't like it, and have only just become desperate enough to eat it.

Sunflower seeds on the other hand, are worth fighting over. One small handful, and the regulars are ready to commit avicide.

Back: Been rolling about on the floor as per advice earlier in thread, and I have to say, it's much improved.

Shower: Mrs Red took it for a test drive last night. there were lots of "Oohs, ahs, and "Oh yes's" So unless she has a toy boy in there, I think it's fine.

Fair play to you Mr Red for being able to turn your hand to fixing anything, must have saved you a fortune over the years.

Ahhhh but everyone breaks things, but if you have the ability to fix things you break you are still a winner.

I saw the most amazing programme on the domestication of dogs last night. I'm reasonably familiar with the popular theories on the process, but check this out.

For an animal to become domesticated a mutation has to take place within it's brain, and this mutation must be passed on to it's offspring. (So that subsequent generations are born domesticated)

Now, here comes the amazing part....

The domestication mutation triggers an avalanche of other spontaneous mutations, meaning that creatures like the fox or the wolf, that have bred true to type for millennia, suddenly start to appear with different or unusual features.

Example. After being domesticated, (Incredibly only a 10 year process) foxes started giving birth to young with floppy ears, black & white coats, shorter muzzles etc etc.

What a truly astounding phenomenon. I'm gobsmacked.

Laxies story made me chuckle, I can just imagine her piping up from the corner to tell them whats what!

So standard to have ruck though on NYE these days whatever race/background your from.

I was lucky enough to spend NYE in Prague with Matt in an Irish Bar where we impressed a fair few people by sitting at table for 13 hours with a constant flow of 1 fosters 1 guinness being delivered all night. Everyone was super friendly.

Got home to hear that for the 5th year running the local pub had exploded into a riot, with the new addition of two girls bein knocked out by blokes! Unbelieveable.

It happens quite a bit with soldiers/servicemen Tom. I often meet/see/hear somone for the first time and without knowing them previously have an "inkling" that they are a serviceman.

Geo

Precisely Geo, You're picking up signals, you don't really know how you're doing it, but you're doing it.

Now imagine if you had been a serviceman since birth, and so had all your family, and your friends.....

Ahh, yes, I get your drift now.

I used to be able to tell if someone was a policeman in my younger days - though that funny hat helped I guess.

I can still suss a wrong 'un pretty quickly though, & I'm not sure how. I think eye-contact, or lack of it, is one of the clues. Body language gives off so many tells when someone is at-it in some way.

And news from the Mole Hole? It's wrong to tell us about the birds & not the moles. Moleist in fact.
