RED, There has been an anti-corruption unit in cricket for 10 years headed vy Sir Paul Condon. In that time they are no closer to penetrating the labyrinthine networks of corruption within Asian Bookmaking etc.

Whilst it is a shame that a great talent like Amir has had his head turned, the NOTW and the tabloids are only filling the void of incompetent administration in the sports that they manage to "sting" like Snooker and Cricket

p.s the Clydesdale Bank 40, the domestic English competition, is broadcast live in India. Earlier this year one British player was arrested, and another player reported an approach from Indian bookmakers. These are workaday low profile English Pros earning £30k a season, being offered £50k plus to influence one result

It's endemic to the sport, and although you can't condone it...the monies are such that heads are going to be turned, NOTW or not

So if these Chilean miners are not getting paid while they are stuck down below waiting to be extracted, which I was astounded to learn the other day, does that mean that if they miss their mortgage payments or fail to pay their rents they could have been evicted from their homes by the time they get out ?

Most days, I have to look a word up. Today's word was matriculation.

Does anyone actually know that one without looking?

My parents generation did it in school before "o" levels.

I always assumed that it was like graduating from high school before going out and getting a job as opposed to not having any qualification, and no I haven't googled it.

PS Currently playing PLO with a player named "redliondog" from Romania.

Also had to look up a dish that I've never heard of, "ZeeDee". (I bet Ralph knows what it is)

Maybe it's spelled 'Zeedee'.

Sorry Tom, Zee-Dee has me completely snookered behind the eight-ball and angled to boot.
