lol, no it's not. Catch it on i-Player, if you can. It's a documentary series from the same guys that made Blue Planet (I think) but it's about people living in extreme situations and how they adapted to their natural environment. Yesterday was all about people and the sea. There is also an episode about tribes that lives high up in the trees etc. Just your sort of thing.

Thanks Tom.

I like to pretend it's just off the cuff

Good luck with getting that one through!

It could happen. Tank does it.

You calling Tank a tosser?

Where is he anyway?

He's in his living room watching Human Earth

It's rather good.

So I explained to the Doc that my caboose didn't hurt all the time, it only hurt when I sat on something soft. (Yeah, I know it sounds daft) even when I do sit on something soft, it doesn't hurt right away, it takes about 15 minutes, and then the top half of my left buttock feels like someone has burned it.

It doesn't happen when I sit in a hard chair, (Which is convenient if you're a poker player) it's only when I sit on something squishy, like the settee. It really is a pain in the arse though, especially when I'm at home. Imagine being banished from your sofa. Watching a film while sitting on the floor or a dining chair just isn't the same.

Anyway, the Doc was sure he could sort me out. "We'll soon get to the bottom of this" he said with a grin, obviously pleased with his pun.

I smiled too. I didn't mind being the butt of his little joke. Had I known what was to come, things might have been different.

Almost a year later, I had been prescribed every kind of tablet imaginable, from aspirin to iPad. I had been prodded and poked by people from what seemed like every department in the NHS, from the head of obstetrics and gynaecology, right down to the woman who runs the volunteer tea bar.  On one particularly uninspiring day, I was examined by some random bloke in brown overalls and a high visibility vest, who I could have sworn I saw half an hour earlier laying block paving in the car park. All to no avail.

My derrière continued to defy diagnosis.

Having perused every avenue open to them (so to speak) the might of the Midlands medical profession finally admitted defeat and referred me, at their expense, to the "Musculoskeletal" department of the Limes Medical Centre. A very up-market private clinic.

"You're in good hands now" quipped my GP, "They're a crack team...."

Sounds like sciatic pain to me, though that usually extends down the back of the leg.

Recently I've been interested in the "How many meals a day" debate.

I think this article makes a lot of sense.
