Not so as you'd notice, but if you were to look very very carefully, you would see it.....

THE GRASS IS GROWING!  Nothing much, just a few tiny bright green shoots, like nature's bum-fluff, but it's definitely growing.

Just in time too. It'll be March soon, and the lambs will be here, quickly followed by a few more reproductions. Birds, bees bugs, bats, badgers, bobcats, and a billion others, some of which don't even start with a B.

Try to spot a few this year. Take time to appreciate them. Then, if we don't get another chance next year, we will have done our best, and if we do get another chance, we can thank our lucky stars that we're running so good and do it all over again.

A Lamb season...the best time of year IMO..nothing makes MrsB happier than driving/walking past a field with some little lambs and watching them bounce all over the field. Don't get me wrong, I think they're cute and all that sort of stuff but MrsB takes it to a whole new level...which makes it fantastic for me.

Since I started feeding the birds outside we have been drowning in finches and other weird and wonderful little feathery buggers...

Great eh? what and how are you feeding em Mr B?

We have a woman on the market who sells wild bird food and feeders. She does a roaring trade. I bought a sort of bird-feeder tree from her, it has hooks and things for several types of feeder, (Which she also supplies) Not to expensive though, the whole lot only cost about £20.

It doesn't matter how you feed them really though, the top of a gate post works just as well.

I feed fat balls from a cage-type thingy, they last ages if the jackdaws don't come and demolish the lot in 5 minutes, and a finch mixture (to which I add a few sunflower seeds) from one of those clear plastic hoppers. I also feed peanuts from a stainless steel wire tube. (has to be stainless steel or the squirrels bite through it)

Oh, and I feed winnowings that I get from a friendly farmer along with some rape seed in a mesh bowl.

We were given a home made bird feeder a few years ago, can't even remember when or what for TBH but it doesn't matter...it was the best gift anyone has ever given us to be fair..even though they didn't know we'd like it at the time.

I tend to buy RSPCA bird feeder mix, it's not too expensive and the profit goes to protect the birds that don't get fed by myself. (TBH, I reckon they pocket the money as I seem to feed every bird in the bloody town these days, but OK)

I just put it out on the little tray and watch the birds have fun with it. Had considered buying the peanut nets and a fat ball but reckon feeding 20 birds a day is probably enough (Even Hugh Heffner doesn't feed that many).

It's the most fun you can have in your own garden (when you live in a normal town and not a Yorkshire paradise Smiley )

Lol. There speaks a man who has never replaced the clutch plate on an Austin Princess.

Admit it though, cutting the crass is strangely therapeutic.

Yes your right, the hardest bit is forcing myself out the door to do it in the first place.

6 years we've waited for that pearl of wisdom, but it was worth it.

I'm the same, just don't see this countries obsession with mint sauce so don't eat it often enough
