nope - although I am at an advantage by being from London and having a pretty good idea of the geography of the place, so I used a mental map.

if the question related to another city I'd probably have to look at a map because I wouldn't have a clue about what was n/s/e/w

My mate Matt (quite a good but ever so slightly poncey cook) yesterday served up

Smoked Eel on a bed of rocket with Beetroot Puree and Horseradish Cream, followed by

Herby Lamb chops with a proper helping of dauphinoise potatoes and greens, followed by lemon tart. A modest glass of decent red helped it all go down pretty well.

We examined his chickens as one of them had a fly infection and was being treated with Iodine, we admired his vegetables, cooed over his 9 month old daughter Jessica and had a good cacth up after 4 months.

I really enjoyed the evening but everything I do at the mo' seems a little enhanced.

Thanks for asking - do reciprocate :-)

Mrs look's over my shoulder as I am looking at the picture above a couple of pages ago - I am wistfully dreaming of such variety of birds visiting my table as she says something like "surely you don't need to look up the name of that bird - and why not just look at them in the garden"

Confused I reply that "we have never had a Greenfinch in the garden" at this point she giggles and points out the scene outside as Mother bird takes a morsel from my bird table to feed its fledgling.

"What colour is that bird outside?" She asks.

"Chaffinch coloured" I reply.

Roaring with laughter she walks away and states that I should "find a hobby less reliant on colour - that's the funniest green chaffinch I have ever seen".

It seems my colour blindness hinders my observational skills when coming to bird watching - 3 days now she has been pointing at random birds but mostly Blackbirds and Starlings and asking "are you sure you know what colour that is" and giggling - Sigh.

Shit post Nakor, such a clown.

This is what I'm talkin' bout! ^^^^^

All that pleasure, just from appreciating the small stuff.  Kudos

I especially liked this line: "everything I do at the mo' seems a little enhanced"

Wouldn't it be great if we could build a little more of that attitude in to our lives.

Lol. Greenies are fairly common, but that doesn't make them less interesting.

The house sparrow was once a common sight, now they're a novelty.

Nice post Mr N. Now get your Mrs to do one.
