Today I spotted a cock bullfinch on the top of a hedge. Calling and capering about like a goodun he was. So much so that I was able to sneak up close enough to take his picture.

Also managed to get a quick snap of a rook on his way home after a sneaky lunchtime visit to the Sharnford Arms.

Excellent photos, Tom.
However, I'm more than a lttle miffed with Ralph's smartarse remarks, & I might just have to stick it in his eye shortly.
A collection of my heron photos on the way, if I can locate the file.
Step aside, prepare for humiliation, all of you.

Not many bullfinches left now Tom
Easy pickings for sparrow hawks
True Trev, But I don't begrudge the sparrow hawks as much as I do the fruit farmers, who are licensed to kill bullfinches.

I think I have made my point, far more eloquently than "humorous brevity", thank you.
The case rests.

I bet the memory of seeing that heron is sharp and clear though.

Not wrong. For a town boy, they are golden moments.

As your football corry appears to be on strike, or worrying about my renowned heron photography, I should inform you that the Arse won 2-1 tonight, scoring the winner in the 95th minute.
This made Premier League history, as it was the 4th straight time Arsenal have come from behind to win, no other team have ever done that.
Sadly, there was some bad blood between RVP & young Krul, who had a running battle throughout. Neither of them appear to like Dutch players.

I haven't heard from Maureen in a while so I bumped Reece's thread.
Then I got to thinking.. I haven't heard from Boldie for ages. Anyone know the SP?

When it comes to football reporting, Ralph takes the art of brevity to new extremes.

RVP = Robin van Persie, Arsenal, scorer of, I think, around 33 goals this season. Dutch.
Krul = Newcastle goalie, bit full of himself, but half decent. Dutch.

I've just googled Bawtry auction Jase, It's still going. I can't believe it.
http://www.4wheeldeals.co.uk/auction-houses/Yorkshire-Auctions/Bawtry-auctions.html
I once bought an Austin Allegro from there and the bloody thing had a square steering wheel. (Does anyone remember those?)
You couldn't let it spin back after a corner. Did my head in it did.
