Surely you have something more interesting to tell us about Brussels than just moaning about
the noise of the heating and the price of the pop?
Starting to worry about you, you miserable old fart.

I've had a long day. I'm tired, grumpy and
homesick
.
Also, I don't think I've seen the best that Brussels has to offer. Just squat little concrete buildings sprouting everywhere.
Man-up, you're a Gypsy ffs!
Still laughing

Woo! I slept for 10 hours solid, (I usually sleep 4/5) and now I feel wonderful. I must have been exhausted.
Gonna have a nice shave and a shower, then go down for breakfast. After that, its back to the room for some pre meeting swotting.

When I left the UK the car was in a garage undergoing repairs. I told Mrs R to collect it when the mechanic rang.
He asked her From £150 + vat. She persuaded him that £100 including vat was a more realistic figure.
I got this text from him this morning. " Don't ever send your Mrs to collect anything ever again, EVER".

Right. I'm rested, bathed & breakfasted. I feel amazing. Full of vim, and vigour. Bursting with health, enthusiasm, hormones and pheromones.
I could bite a tiger.

They have a famous fountain in a square in the centre of Brussels with a statue of a boy peeing into the water.
The world-renowned "mannequin pis", that should take your mind off the
sprouts and the mayo.
And you really should sample a couple of their beers too.
Ha, funny that, There was a German family sat next to us a the Dinner buffet last week who
seemed to be really enjoying a plate full of hot brussels smothered in that yogurt and mint
salad dressing. Mmmm...........

I've just had one I'd those fancy schmancy meals where you can't identify the vegetables, the gravy is called sauce and is arranged like an artistic stain on the plate, and the meat looks like it was produced by feeding a cow a hand grenade and then collecting up all the raw but slightly charred half-brick sized chunks.
Lovely!

I love Brussels - our hotel was just behind the square. First night there in the snow we found the square, sat outside under the heaters drinking Van Chaud and after that I don't remember much. Spent the entire weekend in an alcoholic haze of food and drink. Have the wine if you haven't already. x

The Mannequin pis bar is excellent. A whole variety of Belgian beers, a statue of a boy having a piss, and you can sit outside and watch the world go by.

Football latest.
The Arse won away, making six wins on the bounce, & they have overturned a 10 point defecit only last month against the dastardly lilywhites down the road, (who could only draw @ home to workaday Stoke) & are now THIRD in the PL. Champions League beckons again, & the Wenger doubters are not singing any more. Well not this week, anyway.
Resergunt Chelsea went to Man C & are resurging no more, after De Matteo's Men were beaten by Citeh, who recorded their 20th successive home win in the PL - a record.
Football fans NEVER forget or forgive, & they roundly booed the nasty horrible Tevez, (who has been sulking at home on a measly £20k per week for 6 months after disobeying his Manager's orders 6 months ago) when he came on as sub with 25 mins to go. He made an assist for Nasri to score the winner, so the football fans - those ones who never forget or forgive - cheered him to the rafters & applauded him off the pitch.
Liverpool were down in Shepherds Bush, meanwhile, & absolutely battered QPR, with an astonishing corner-count of 17-7, & were 2-0 up, home & hosed, with only 15 minutes remaining. They lost 3-2. Dalglish, in the post-match TV interview, looked thrilled to bits, & warmly congratulated QPR.
PS - Oh, & we got the lot on the tikay Tips thread. Sort of.

You left out a zero Tony, it's £200K per week the poor unfortunate has to get by on.
