Only when it's a direct choice between that and Tony's diary.

I've a question for you Tom.  We'd to change dog food this week.  There was no stock of the usual (Bakers) when we went to Costco, so we got some other one and the boys don't like it.  I've tried adding gravy to it - not a hope.  They'll eat a little bit of it with chicken broth added, but maybe only half of their usual, if that.  Do we just keep motoring on with the idea that, like children, the dogs will eat when they're hungry enough or are dogs really that stubborn?

They will definitely eat it, (and probably like it) eventually.

Dogs don't usually do stubborn, they just do clever. Try not feeding them at all one day and see what happens.

An occasional day of fasting is good for dogs, if you feel guilty about it, join them. It's good for people too.

Have a great 4th of July.

Question :

In your opinion, what percentage of Americans would know all the words to the national anthem?

The 'Entrapment' angle raises some interesting moral questions thought Andrew, and they say they will sue if the programme is broadcast but the news report is just as damaging.

I doubt many (if any) know the entire anthem.  I definitely don't.  Don't think I've ever even heard the full version.  However, born and bred Yanks who know the first bit would come in at a very high percentage.  It's played prior to every sporting event over there, from school to pro events.  I'll go with 95%.  The percentage would be much lower among the green card holding population because many don't even speak English.  With that group, I'd say 50% is an optimistic number.

Thanks for the doggy tip.  Jack is struggling to get his head around the idea of fasting them atm, but I'll bring him around.  lol

You are of course right Tom but how the Corrie stars didn't see it coming with that name is laughable. Maybe it's because I already knew what it meant.

Douglas Englebart, the bloke who invented the computer mouse, has died aged 88.

He invented and patented it in 1968, but he didn't earn any money from it because by the time it became popular some 30 years later, the patent had run out.

Bugger.

Was going to start a thread about this but, seeing as you're doing topical stuff, what do you make of the Sainsbury's mobile 'phone story?

Cliffs: checkout person refuses to serve a woman who is talking on her mobile until she ends the call. The supermarket has apologised to her since.
