I get my latest news from GQ, Esquire and very little from elsewhere.

Hence so many jackets and jeans  Cool

Not in a Clarkson way, I hasten to add.

Vogue and Tatler are on subscription in our house and many others bought on demand. Her bedroom looks like a recycling plant.

Yeah, I'm a hoarder as well. My magazines have David Beckham, Daniel Craig and Simon Cowell on the front, rather than some random lady with her fwoops on display.

Does she get her interest and talent from her mother's side?

Obviously, the only thing she gets from my side is the money to pay for it.

Aaaaaaaaanywaaaaaaaayyyyy...

Your dad and winkle pickers?

In the early 60's he worked for his cousin who made shoes and pretty much started the winkle picker craze of the day. The even made Pathe News and a Cliff Mitchlemore show not sure of the name maybe Tonight or something similar.

My dad is the one polishing the shoes at around 1:40.

That's a great piece of footage Andrew. How come you have it? Was it something the family had stored on some other medium before we had computers or did you find it on the internet?

The heatwave warning has been raised to "level three" by the Met Office for south-west England and the West Midlands.

Let's be careful out there.

Imagine if Michael Buble had a brother who worked for Tefal, well that's my current mental image of you.

This made me lol. A lot.
Tal, you either took this really well, or..... it went completely over your head

No RSC trip as yet, b.t.w. I'll have to wait until closer to September as too many kid related outings to enjoy till then.
Also, I still have to dupe someone into coming with me.
It will probably be my sister Sadie again as she tends to agree to stuff without asking too many questions, which is how she ended up stood in a field in Wimbledon last month wearing just her PJ's and a bewildered expression, clutching a piece of card with 'You are Number 9027 in the Queue' printed on it.  Grin

Mrs Red is making curtains for the camper,  so I thought I should include a photo.

Anyway,  I like the colors and patterns of her sewing paraphernalia. It's a nice homely scene, it makes me feel good.

I might frame it and hang it in my study.

I guessed what the reference might be to, but I haven't seen the adverts Urban Dictionary has since guided me to. Suspect I don't want to, either.

I'm too sensitive a flower for such japes, I'm afraid.

Noooo!

Please don't make me feel bad. You're not the only one who's sensitive.

My Dad told us about his claim to fame many years ago and how they were filmed on a couple of occasions. It was only after someone on Tikays diary mentioned about the Pathe News website that I thought of looking on there. And hey presto. I can't find clip which was shown on Cliff Mitchelmores show though.

It was AndrewT that found the Pathe News clip of my dad.

Worth asking him if you are looking for more stuff.
