btw Tom where were you when Kennedy died?  Did in mean anything to your cultural group? 

It was quite a big thing for my catholic background - I remember my mother crying when the news was on the radio, which I hadn't seen before.

I have no specific memory of the actual event, but I clearly remember getting a tin trunk in the scrap that was lined with a newspaper bearing a 'Kennedy Assassinated' headline.

Well the other day, purely by accident, I found out that she had died.

I'm a bit fascinated by death, and I'm always curious to find out what happened when someone I "Know" passes away. According to Wiki, in 2008 she had a stroke and didn't recover.

While reading the Wiki piece, I noticed that just before she died, she had made a documentary about someone else I knew. It was her one time co presenter Ed Mitchell, who had apparently gone from golden boy to homeless degenerate gambler and alcoholic.

I think I'm even more fascinated by addiction than I am by death, and I have a huge amount of sympathy for addicts of all kinds. I have an addictive nature myself. There but for the grace of God go I.

You're right Vin. I was listening to some other story when I heard that she had died. I can't remember what it was about though.
