Stop digging Tom.
Just accept you were wrong, apologise unreservedly, bow to my superior whatsit, and I'll call it a draw.
Can't be fairer than that.
Off for a kip now, might poodle up to DTD for the £30 thing tonight, you going?
That depends. Have you had a shave lately? I only move in reputable circles.

Apology accepted.

Radio 4's Book of the Week. A beautifully written true account of a middle aged man's modern day attempt to ride the 'Very Terrible' 1914 bicycle tour of Italy.
This imo is a real treat for anyone who admires good wordsmithing. Don't just let the story wash over you, listen to the prose.
Allow him 5 minutes to set the scene and get into his stride then sit back and enjoy.
Go on, you don't even have to read it, someone will do it for you.

I know many of Tom's family love Ralphy boy, so I thought I'd share this with you.
His beloved Arsenal won the FA Cup yesterday. Despite the wonderful weather, Ralph was sat indoors, cheering on his boys, whilst wearing the Arsenal scarf.
I saved this photo under the name "PROUD". Pretty apt, I think.
I've no idea why this photo makes me so happy, but Tom will understand.

Wearing that scarf in your flat is like saluting the cenotaph as you pass by alone on a dark night.
Old skool values.

I'm so pleased someone actually gave it a go.
Next mission, persuade Tony to watch episode 1 of breaking bad.
I watched a couple of episodes of Game of Thrones btw. So now when I say 'it's a load of crap' I can do so with authority.

Yes.
Well... that is to say I think so. You'll have to ask a more specific question Mr Tal. I'm not sure what you disagree with.

For the more discerning viewer (I exclude you from that category), we find that TV series shot in 35mm film to be, if you will excuse my technical language, a bit naff.
To be fair, I doubt you even noticed it is primarily shot in 35mm.

It's probably me being grumpy and objectionable.

I don't see wearing a football scarf indoors as a tribal support of your team as being even remotely comparable to (even as a civilian) saluting the cenotaph as a mark of respect for why it's there.
I'd never compare the two, irrespective of which team it was. As much as I am a spurs fan, I don't begrudge anyone who supports their team getting moments of joy. It isn't that and I should make that clear.
I'm sure what you said was a throwaway remark so I'll pull back and be less of a prude.
Well I wasn't comparing playing football to dying for your country, I was using it as an example of performing an act of loyalty and solidarity, even when there is no one there to witness it, but I take your point.
