Those wooden-framed moggie station-wagons must be worth a fortune these days.
They called them a shooting brake Ralph. I remember "shooting-brake" being used to describe some cars in my youth but never knew what it meant (too embarrassed to ask probably) and certainly didn't realise it was the English term for the American "station-wagon" or vice-versa. |

There was also a mini with a wooden frame which must be pretty rare too.

Iconic car, but gotta have more details. What why when who where....? was 17 (1981) just passed test ,mini saloons were all the rage but needed bit of room 4 tools etc. had drum brakes all round , no servo- you could adjust those brakes ten times a day and everytime you put yer foot on the brake you had to gab steering wheel for dear life , if not it could pull whichever way it felt like at the time lol. |

I just rang ring the income tax self assessment helpline and get this message:
The number you have dialed has changed, please dial new number.
I dial new number.
Automated voice asks why I'm calling and misunderstand my answers a dozen times, then asks for my national insurance number, which it misunderstands twice. Then it asks for my name, my date of birth, my postcode, and my wife's date of birth.
Then it puts me on hold to speak to an advisor.
After 27 minutes of Vivaldi's Four Seasons, the same robot voice says, "I'm sorry, there is no one available to take your call at the moment. Goodbye"
The phone goes dead.
There is an amazing post script to this. When I was writing about the music they played at me, I had no idea what it actually was, I just plucked Vivaldi's Four Seasons out of the air, but when I checked the spelling a YouTube link came up. I clicked the link and found that it actualy was Vivaldi's Four Seasons.
Even more amazingly, my daughter came in and I told her about it and she was able to hum Vivaldi's Four Seasons.
That Vivaldi bloke is more famous than he thought.
