How does reserving one work, and how many big blinds are we talking?! Wink

Reserving? A couple of people I know well have told me they want one.

Cost? Are we talking interested or curious?
Is the interested price higher than the curious one? Wink

Haha, no, vice versa, but you get the spiel with interested.

What's the returns policy?

If it gets run over you can't bring it back.

Poppy is going to have puppies. Her due date is 13/05/2015. We're so excited.

It always amazes me to think that an entire litter of puppies can go from conception to birth in just 9 weeks, but perhaps it's just as well judging by the rate she's expanding at. Any longer and I think she could explode.

I've made her a whelping box in anticipation of the big event. She seems to like it.

Congratulations gramps, who's the father?
If you put a small paddling  pool in there pop's could have her very own birthing pool.

Hoping for lots of puppy photos anon. In my formulations for that latest story one of the ideas I came up with, and sadly forgot about, was for Arbboy to take Poppy to his neighbours house where he had a great dane and she got impregnated by it !

Great news (puppyhood) Tom.

What does Kizzy think of all this?

How will she react to a whole litter of Poppy's?

She knows what is going off, I'll wager, but how she interacts quite fascinates me.

Isn't Poppy a bit young for that kind of malarky?

Kidz today eh.

A dog's life is not blighted by thinking Tone, well not in the conventional sense anyway, they mostly run on instinct their behavior patterns are, by and large, governed by previous experience.

Dogs are pack animals and we, the McCready family, are Kizzy's pack. I am the pack leader and she ranks below everyone, (with the possible exception of Sadie).

This pack system, with its strict pecking order, is what makes dogs feel happy and secure.

Often I see dogs, sometimes even really weak willed dogs who have not been taught their place in the pecking order and their lives have become a constant power struggle with their weak willed or misguidedly kind owners.

Kizzy out ranks Poppy in the pecking order, so she acknowledges her or sometimes even plays with her if she feels like it, otherwise she ignores her.

Well adjusted, secure dogs see puppies as a welcome addition to the pack and usually treat them with benevolence and tolerance. It's not unusual to see a puppy get away with eating from an adult dog's bowl, or pulling his ears when another adult would be severely reprimanded for doing the same thing.

The alternative answer to your question, and the one most people want to hear is, Auntie Kizzy is thrilled that her good friend Poppy is going to be a mum. She can't wait for the babies to arrive so that she can spoil them rotten.

No Ralph. Poppy is about 15 months old now, she is fully grown, fit and healthy, and was mated on her second season.

There is a lot of bollocks talked about breeding dogs. I.e. 'Wait until she is at least three years old before you start' or, 'Allow two years between litters'. Well say you are want to breed 4 litters from your bitch, the only thing you will achieve by waiting is to waste the natural resilience of her youth so that you can then expose your older bitch to the stresses of motherhood.

Young healthy bitches have puppies like shelling peas. If you're going to do it, get on with it, then have her spayed.

Hi Ade. Questions.

The life blood of diaries, and what great questions too.

is where you live now the longest you have stayed put?
Yes, by a long way.

do you think you will stay put
Don't know. I love it here but I get terrible itchy feet.

nearly every traveller i have met has been superstitious, would you say this is the norm, and any reasoning why?
Yes, it is the norm. I think it's because we're mostly illiterate and quite old fashioned.

do you still play poker?
A bit online but haven't had a live game since last August. might break out soon though, I'm starting to miss it.

is a d series better than a tk?
I'm a huge Bedford fanboy but my life depended on it, say in a situation like the one in the film Ice Cold In Alex, I would have to go for the reliability of the D Series.

why can Gypsys never count, until you pay  them?
So that they can make mistakes when they are paying you. Smiley

Oh the fun I've had with those brakes. and wtf was that handbrake disk on the propshaft all about?

The older Bedford 300 engines were prone to overheating and blowing the head gasket. The more modern 330 with the full flow head did a lot to improve matters but the cooling system was still a bit suspect, what with blocked rads and slipping impellers.

Still, there aren't too many lorries with room in the cab to put two double breeder bird cages behind the drivers seat.
