Astonishing how such a small bird can fly so far.

Swifts routinely stay airborne for months at a time, eating, drinking and sleeping on the wing.

It's tough I know and it's no real biggie either way in the grand scheme of things but since you asked....
PersonallyI wouldn't intervene. Crow chicks have to eat too you know, and anyway, why was it not in the nest? Are you allowing a bird that jumps ship too early to live and breed and pass that tendency on?
Maybe the nest got attacked and he had a much better survival instinct than the others who were previously sparohawk fodder? He is probably an ex-bird by now as there has been no sign of either him or the mother since yesterday morning. That's a great counter argument. I love it.

I read books about the most unspeakable horrors. War, genocide, serial killers, child abuse, debilitating disease etc, but they are always from the point of view of people who survive, or have a chance to. These stories where there no winners and no one ever had a chance are just too much for me. I can't really handle them.

Tom can you help me?
Joined my Dad watching a film on TCM last night about the Nuremberg trials. After some research today was disappointed to learn it was a fictional adaptation. Can you recommend a film or text that is a decent representation of the trials? Have tried the trial transcripts today but they are huge and very heavy going (yes I appreciate the subject is about the "heaviest" possible) but there seems to be a huge amount of films/books available and just wondered if you could recommend any?

If you google Lord John Oaksey the horse-racing bloke(bear with me Adam) you will find that his dad was the presiding judge at Nurenberg which might lead you in the right direction.

I hate this question. Don't fret over it Tom,just thought you might have some insight as you seem to have a genuine interest in the period. Ralph's path has led to some interesting/factual info.

The trouble is every account you watch/read is tainted by someone's bias. I've read and watched loads of stuff over the years and each thing sways or prejudices my opinion a bit. I don't want to pass that on to you. I think the way you are going is great. Watch something, feel unsatisfied, look for more/better info.
