Am I seeing things or is that steel reinforcement (rebar) that lad has got on his trikey thing?

“Learn from the mistakes of others. You can’t live long enough to make them all yourself.” - Eleanor Roosevelt

I love this quote Trev. I collect good quotes but I've never heard that one before.

BTW- it seems like I'm having a good crack at making all the mistakes myself.

Hahahaha me too

Like the pics

How many rupees will the lads with the old gas cylinders make!

Dunno how much he would make but something is better than nothing.

Everywhere we went people were making something or hauling something or mending something. Anything to get by.

They had great attitudes though, not the "life owes me" crap you see in wealthy countries.

The bloke in this first pic would beg for a while, then a policeman would grab his bowl, pocket the larger denomination coins and give him the shrapnel back.

Incredible isn't it? Virtually anything can be transported by pedal power.

I estimated about a ton of rebar on his bike.

Todays musing

“Learn from the mistakes of others. You can’t live long enough to make them all yourself.” - Eleanor Roosevelt

And by the looks of the following these guys won't be making many mistakes

5 things to know about India by 2030:

1. Second largest economy (GDP), ahead of US

2. More than 1 billion internet users

3. 77% or population under age 44

4. 80% of population is middle class

5. $5.7 trillion consumer spending

hmmmm bit suspicious about economic forecasts like this, not saying these necessarily are, but quite often they're achieved by looking at the last 5 years and then assuming the lines will go up at the same rate for the next 10.

Spooky, I thought exactly the same, must be a ton.

It isn't even that, it just looks to be a massive stretch.   India's economy is about our size right now.  Third is possible, but Donald Trump would have to go absolutely nuts for the US to shrink enough for India to catch up in 10 years... oh wait.

Suspect they use a different definition of middle class than we do.

Yes, that was the stat that jumped off the page for me, too. Guess it's all relative.

Perhaps it was a typo and they meant middle-caste.

Ending thought for this week. Whatever you’re dealing with, it’s ok to be afraid. It’s not ok to stay afraid. Confront it. Deal with it as best you can. Move on.

It's great advice Trev, but sometimes it's impossible to follow.

Yes I agree but if it helps one or two it’s a result

I am sure we can all equate to the situation

Hi Tom, I just love how you can post a photo. I say bike? and you come up with a great story to go with it. You do this regularly, love the way you and Tikay both write about your lives. Think you both have a great book in yourselves.

This ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^  100%

Woah there Missy!

What a pot and kettle statement that is. If anyone on this forum has book inside them it's you.

To write a book you don't have to live a an incredibly exciting life, you just have to be incredibly excited about life and have the ability to pass that excitement on to your readers. You have that in spades.

I'm not saying it's easy. Having a book inside you and getting the bastard out on to paper are two different things entirely.

Ralph is the exception BTW. He writes effortlessly, he just can't be arsed.

I couldn't even keep a diary going! I learned that bearing my soul as to what I was struggling with although it seemed to help others come to terms with things and move on, didn't work for me.
