I wonder how long it will be before we get a news day without mention of Trump, Brexit or Covid?

I can't believe we're almost at the end of the era of the internal combustion engine.

They have been so much a part of my life one way and another. I've spent countless hours trying to make them work or keep them working properly, sometimes for fun but more often through necessity.

Some I have loved and some I have hated but all have taught me something.

Still, it's been a slippery slope since the infernal ECU took over.

If I'd been born like, 80 years earlier I could have done horses, steam & and internal combustion.

I've always fancied fitting a little petrol engine to a bicycle. Pity they are illegal here. Well not actually illegal, but classed as a motorcycle with all the attendant requirements.

I'm seeing loads of these electric scooters around, even though there is nowhere you can legally ride them in public.

I think I read somewhere that you are only allowed to lease them not buy outright - sounds daft.

Has anyone tried the zero calorie lemonade from Aldi Lidl?

Feck me, it's more addictive than crack cocane and only 17p a liter.

I assume that's what they call a loss leader?

I don't think so Ralph. You can buy them but you can't ride them on a public road or pavement.

Happy to be proved wrong. I think I would get one.

It should definitely be illegal for him to have one. He must have been doing 50.

Nearly knocked the gate post down.

I am not sure he looked crossing that road either.

I think they are talking about putting speed limiters on them.  Quite a few round me now.  There were everywhere in Spain when we went early last year.  Also a lot of electric bikes around here; bloody annoying when they go past you uphil, but they are probably the future for commuting.  In 20 years time will we be thinking why did we ever allow people to drive cars round our cities in rush hour?

As I said it sounded a bit daft so must have been listening with my dodgy ear.

I'd quite fancy one for local shopping except they don't seem to have any paniers.

A year ago we went to fun bikes near Melton Mowbray to look at a bigger one with a seat on but didn’t like it
So obv had a go on one of these and we couldn’t stop laughing n smiling ,so we bought one £250 with a 250 watt motor on ,my mate got a 350 watt motor version £199.95 off Amazon
We ride it locally near our house or along various seaside proms on days out
Not quite trusting the 10 km or whatever distance is promised
me 62 years old 153 kg It slows it up but it  gamely struggles on 😂😂
It’s fine with Denise on 😂😂
Try one they really are great fun

There’s so many in London in use  on roads n paths
Their use is spreading outwards
A lot of rentals in Cambridge area ,just randomly parked up at the roadside !
How do they recharge?
I believe you need an app ?
