I should have asked you while I was there Tom but what exactly is the "double mane" ?

Does that just mean that it's thick and hangs both side of the horse's neck ?

Exactly that Ralph.

What a little beauty, how much for the belly ?

I have no idea, but Tom's must be priceless...

Your "patch" of land looks great Tom, I bet summer really suits it.

Which is your fav season Tom?  Id guess at spring.

This filly is from the same stock Ralph.

She  could do with a couple of hundredweight of flesh on her (note the ribs) but she is a corker.

I love every season as it comes Jim.

Toward the end of the summer, I love the autumn colours and I look forward the long cozy nights and frosty winter mornings.

Spring is special though. Life everywhere.

The promise is fulfilled, and natures miracle happens again. I am stunned by the beauty every time.

I bet she spent a few bob on those highlights in the mane and tail Wink,

But wow, what an outstanding looking filly.

A couple of months worth of sun on her back and I'll bet that she'll really blossom, looks to be striding out well too.

That's very astute of you Ralph.

How a horse moves is an extremely important consideration when estimating it's value.

Everyone likes to see a good goer "pickin em up"

BTW- I'm not setting myself up to be some sort of expert here. The proper horse men have forgotten more than I'll ever know.

This is the sire to the foal in that belly Ralph. He died during routine surgery on the 15th of March this year.

Now how much for the belly?

Appleby horse fair

This stretch of road is closed to traffic during fair week so that people can show how the horses move.

That sire is an impressively handsome beast, he looks like the equine equivalent of a power lifter with feet to die for.

And that video of the fair means that I just have to visit one, I could watch them all day.

Look at his neck Ralph, I've never seen one like it.

Just watched Eartha Kitt with Jools Holland on BBC2.

She gave a fantastic live performance of Ain't Misbehavin'.

81 years old, What a star.
