Hurrah, he's selling the naming rights to the stadium.

Does this really matter?

Everyone, home fans, away fans and the media will just keep calling St James Park whatever stupid name is put to it.

In fact anyone who pays serious money to change the name needs their head examining.

According to this:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/n/newcastle_united/8330033.stm

The fans trust has £25 mill to their name.

Why didn't they stump up the cash to save the stadium's name?

NUST attempting to buy out the club in a huge grassroots policy. Looks unlikely to happen but Ashley really has united everyone against him right now so maybe it can work...

If we cant offload players this summer we really should absolutely piss that league if those that stay can play to 60% of their ability. Having said that, we also wouldnt have gone down if they could have done that.

Lets see what happens anyway. Things are very rarely easy with NUFC, so its unlikely to be coasting at the top of the league all season like we somehow did last time.

Hold....

alan smith. 86 league appearances without a goal. how does a striker with a record that a 'keeper would be ashamed of still get to start games?
