Tony Phillips and Ben Vinson are casualties before the break. It looks like the total number of runners is 356 players. An earlier start next month methinks?

Paul Gourlay fires 3,500 on the river of a three clubs board, getting his opponent to muck three diamonds face up.

A familiar face looks to be amongst the chip leaders, Pete Linton has around 45k.

"I don't know how he does it," said Nick Hicks, nursing a 5k stack, "People just gift him 10k every hand when they hit top pair."

Remember though folks. Every chip counts.

What price him having a blow up and doing them all?

I found another lady, pictured in a multiway hand which sort of fizzled out so I didn't write down who won it...

She is, according to the list, Josefine Forssberg, sat next to Shafqat Mirza.  Except her neighbour is, I reckon, now OUT, as I overheard some language that would make a sailor blush coming from near the cashdesk... he was grinning though so perhaps it's too early to report his demise.  It would be a shame; not enough pink shirt/white shades combos in the house tonight.

While getting this pic of Denis O'Mahoney ("Make sure you get the stack - the stack!" It's 12,800) a hand developed between Matthew Lewis and Mark Wilson at the table.  The board had reached the river with a medium-sized pot of a few thousand - Two Diamonds two hearts.  Now Wilson bet out 2,500 and was faced with a quick raise to 5,000.  This caused him some consternation, and his deliberation over whether Lewis did or didn't have a King took all the way up into the break (which is just drawing to a close).  He clearly decided in the negative, as he called, but mucked when Lewis flipped A-K...

Incidentally, don't you reckon Lewis kind of has a Ilari Sahamies sort of aesthetic going on?

Great coverage folks, thanks to DTD for supporting this too. I have got to make it down there again next month!

Can we still buyin with DTD points? I know they expire soon but cant remeber when. Apologies as I know it is on here but cant find the post for the life of me.

Julian Thew makes it 525 preflop gets a call from Benjamin Boulden in midposition and the big blind Brian Evans.

three diamonds

Thewy bets 700, Boulden calls and Evans folds.

Thewy now bets 1,050. Boulden raises to 2,500. Thewy sets him in for another 4,000 or so and is duly called.

Thewy:

Boulden:

on the river changes nothing and Boulden doubles up to about 15k, I still think Thewy has about 30k though.
