Interesting hand...

Colin Young limps for 400 UTG. Adrian Swingler raises to 3,500 next to him. Sam Trickett's right eyebrow shoots up, like it's being pulled by a marionette puppeteer as he folds. No-one but Young wants to play and they see a flop.

Check, check.

Two Diamonds

Young quickly fires out 5k. Call from Swingler.

Young now bets 11k. Swingler looks like he's going to put in his chips in but then pulls his stack back, and folds face up. Young shows a . Extraordinary.

Tears for Gazza

Not Paul this time, but Edward is the one left mopping up his salty excretions with a tissue. (Really must start vetting my words before I type them out.)

His A-3 turned into a straight by the river of a 6-2-7-5-4 board but it's called the idiot end for a reason and the genius end was held by Harprit Singh Gurnam whose 8-8 didn't suffer a beat and he sends the young player to the rail, moving him to over 30,000.

Dave Smith has turned his fortunes round, no longer needing to stack his chips in one huge babel tower to impress the rail. He has shifted his chips up to an above-average 27,000 at this point, working his chip accumulation skills to good effect through the last few levels.

Back to the bench Gazza!

We've just lost Matthew Lewis, racing his vs Matthew Eiler-gadsden's which came off best on the three clubs two hearts board.

Phillip Tomlinson has knocked out Lee Randell, the latter trying to make a move with but quickly being called with A-K which held on the T-7-3-A-9 board.

125 players remaining.

Chilli is out losing a 50k flip, she raised to 2k on the button and Te Ng Cao reraised to 6k from the small blind. Maria shoved for 22k with A-K and Cao eventually made the call with Nines with the board coming J-T-T-9-x a flop of hope crushed by the turn card.

Here's a photo of the two with Daniel Rudd just before the clash.

Some excellent backdoor action has saved Chris Bruce from elimination, he check/raised all-in on a and John Falconer made the call with , finding himself up against the drawtastic three diamonds. There was no help on the two spades turn and but the provided to be a Brucey bonus, the straight making card winning the hand.

Here's Martin Malone (I hope!) with a sub-average but still in the mix 20,500...

Toby Lewis - Face shot proved impossible due to his baseball cap angle. That's like so 80s dude...

James Bagly - short on chips but long on dapper.

Smith Smelted

Dave Smith has just been sent to the felt.

I'm assuming he had lost some chips prior to this hand as he raised with and was re-raised all-in making the call.

His opponent's pocket queens were good on the flop, good on the turn and good on the river, meaning the former GUKPT winner joins the rail, ready to spray more unsuspecting passerbys with his comical yellow flower. (He wasn't wearing it today but I still like it.)

Good Game Dave!

Dingdell here - last hand before break and one more level before stopping until tomorrow.

Table Chris Bruce/Burnley John......

Blinds 300/600 button raises to 1800.
SB dwells and then reraises to approx 16000
Chris Bruce in BB has his head in his hands as he mulls over a major decision and eventually reraises to put the SB all in. Button SB calls his entire stack with  three diamonds

Chris reveals  , board comes  two spades and like my favourite ipod poker song another one bites the dust and Chris spends the first few moments of this break stacking a pot worth 28000.

Dingdell here - Nick Hicks must be close to chip leader with around 70,000 at the break - he's got that 'comfortable' feel about him - you just know he's going to cash in this one.....just waiting for the instabok to come into play now.....

Dingdell here - last level of the day starting with 114 players, Mother hen has just announced he expects 90 to return tomorrow. ....and what Simon wants Simon gets to expect some dodgy dealing from our lovely dealers, with ohhs, ahhs, bad beats and sweats until the river as the DTD team try and meat Simons taget of 90 players.

Average stack 25700, blinds 400/800 with an ante of 100 - and they're off
