Best option is moving it to lounge with the caveat that there will be stripper stories and pictures.

This.

Not sure I banished you, or that banished is the right word..:-) . certainly a lot of stuff was moved in here when i diaries board was created, but it wasn't personal towards you

but anyway, can move it to the lounge if it helps/motivates/appeals, no problem at all

To be fair the title contained the word "diaries" so it was an obvious candidate to be moved.

I don't think it helped that the move to the diaries section coincided with me stopping training and thus having nothing to update. Surprising how these diaries disappear when there's nobody to do any updating.

I've just started railing Matt. I'm on a get fit binge after an extended Xmas and NY and trying to take it seriously.

Never been one for cardio training, but that's because I've never put on weight before. But now I'm an old man the metabolism is slowing and I've been developing an awful figure - looking kinda skinny but with a belly! It's truly the nut worst figure. If you're gonna be fat at least be fat all round!

So I've taken up running once a day as well as working on my upper body with chin ups, pressups, ab work etc.

I got given a 10kg disc for Christmas lol, but yet to use it as didn't wanna take it Barcelona with me!

Anyway, keep going with this in some format, it's great.

I've just started with a foam roller too, wish I'd started using it years ago.

It's an excellent back cracker and is definitely very helpful recovering from soreness quicker, but is also surprisingly useful as part of warming up.  It really gives the IT bands a good ironing out and also the quads which is by far my favourite muscle to get massaged.  Ok, 2nd favourite muscle to get massaged...

What do the Vegas plans look like?

Vegas is currently myself, Stuart Hopkin, Guy Johnson and Neil Giblin booked in to the Cosmopolitan from the 5th through to the 12th June. My birthday's on the 10th so it all fits in nicely.

Looking likely that we've got Eck and the Mole joining us for the duration and maybe more who knows.

Currently no plans to play any poker although it's a posibility I suppose. There's the millionaire maker on the weekend we get there but I'm more interested in chilling, drinking and eating than playing poker to be honest. We'll just see what everybody else wants to do. If I'm going to play any poker I guess that's the one to play.

I'm really looking forward to the trip as it's going to be the first time I've been to Vegas. I didn't really trust myself before now due to various habits that would most likely have seen me skint, dead or both within the first couple of days. I've got those things under control now that I'm a little older so I'm confident I can go there and just have fun without going crazy.

Only 5 months to go!!!!

How much can you squat? I've got quite into lifting over the last six months and I did my first 100kg+ squat this month. Not sure how that shapes up in the grand scheme of things but it's an amount I never thought I could do.

I've never been much of a squater even in my prime. I think my max was about 140kg which compared to the amounts I was leg pressing wasn't a lot.

Anything over 100kg is fantastic. Awesome work!!

When I start back on legs if I can manage 100kg at any point in the first 3 to 6 months I'll be very happy indeed.

Yeah my biggest leg press was actually 240kg (2 reps). Obviously that doesn't include your back in any way.

My annual goals for lifting this year are over 100kg for squat, deadlift and bench press. Done 102.5kg for squat so far, about 80kg for deadlift and a little over 70kg for the bench press.

I can send you a schedule if you want mate for these strength exercises.  It's a squat schedule that has been adapted for other powerlifing/weightlifting lifts and the gains seen are pretty incred.

I squatted 280kg in my prime.  F/squat af around 245kg.  I was never a big bencher as never wanted a big chest.  When back in the gym last year I was benching 100kg to start with and after a 6 week schedule I was doing doubles with 125kg.

Not been near gym in 6 months though following a back injury, hopefullt get back in about it in next few weeks.

Unbelievable weights there mate!! Proper bar bending stuff!!

Are you just one of those naturally strong guys or did you have to really work at it?

Obviously you had to work to get to your peak levels but I think you'll know what I mean.

Would be great if could post that schedule on here if you have time. Might be something I'd like to have a go at now I'm feeling fully fit.

It was probably a mix of both tbh.   I was naturally strong in so far as against other lads my age at the time I  could easily brush aside but the more weight I started lifting the harder I had to train.    I'm going to start doing a bit of coaching with some young lads who are involved in weightlifting and I'm going to be concentrating more on posture/technique with them as I can see they are strong but lack the technical ability and range of movement to reach the top level imo.  One of my plans is to get them involved in yoga.

That's not pasted well but the numbers down the side are week and number across are the training days.

Always have a rest day in between session.  If your doing squats don't do any other leg work at heavy weights maybe some light presses just to keep legs ticking over.

For big one off lifts I would reccomend getting in a god bit of swimming, helps loads with oxygen capacity.

You worry me Mr R.

You've never been to Vegas, & then you throw this seemingly innocent purler in.....

Looking likely that we've got Eck and the Mole joining us for the duration and maybe more who knows.

Do you know what those 2 are like when they get together in a Vegas bar?

It'll get messy, I promise.

Pretty sure I can sort that out. Just have to threaten to cancel beer/curry night in favour of training and he'll be there like a shot.

We've got absolutely nothing planned yet but that could change I suppose.

Would quite like to do a helicoptor trip to see that big hole thing but other than that it'll be play it by ear.

General plan is:

Friday - Arrive 2pm, go out, get drunk.
Saturday - Get up, go out, get drunk before hangover has a chance to kick in.
Sunday - Get up, feel poorly, go out, get slightly less drunk than Friday or Saturday
Monday - Get up, maybe see the big hole thing, go out, get slightly drunk
Tuesday - Get up, go out, get drunk.
Wednesday - Birthday!!!!! Get very drunk!!!!
Thursday - Feel poorly
Friday - Go home

As I suspected, you have COMPLETELY missed my point about Eck & Mole.

They don't "get up" as they never go to bed. 3 days non-stop at a bar is nothing to them, that's just a warm-up.

The other issue is trying to understand what the Mole is saying after the 3-days of non-stop drinking.

LOL bloody amateur, the old fella has it bang on. You certainly won't be going to bed every night or day for that matter.

Oh and that big hole thing, tell me what it looks like when you get back we've never managed to get near it. Well not the Grand Canyon big hole thing anyway...
